Let the seeds grow

Have you ever heard a sermon and felt like the preacher was talking about your situation? That sermon is a seed that the Lord is planting in your heart. Have you ever read an inspirational book and felt like the author was writing the story of your life? That is another seed that God is planting in your heart. Have you ever heard a Christian song that lifted your spirit so high that you felt like you could fly? That song is another seed God is planting in your heart. Have you ever found a passage in the Bible that brought peace to your racing mind? That passage is a seed the Lord is planting in your heart. Have you ever heard encouraging words from a friend that triggered so much joy that you forgot about the pain? Those words are yet another seed that the Lord is planting in your heart. All these seeds bring immediate relief but the Lord wants us to water those seeds and cultivate them so we can use them during low seasons. When disaster hits we often feel disarmed and powerless while in reality the Lord has been preparing us along the way. He has been equipping us. However, if after hearing a great message on Sunday we don’t store it in our spirit but we leave it on a shelf it won’t do any good when we need it. Those seeds of faith need to turn into plants. The Bible says that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible to us. (Matthew 17:20). Friend, let’s replay the sermons, let’s sing that song over and over again, let’s refer to inspirational books and read the Bible, let’s stay in contact with friends that motivate us. We need to water the seeds and let them grow. The bigger the seed, the bigger the faith. Put that green thumb to work so to speak. Suggested reading: Luke 17:6; Matthew 13:31-32; Deuteronomy 11:18; Proverbs 4:21
