Trip of a lifetime

Imagine your life being a road with many stops and different types of sceneries. You can take the scenic route, you can go down memory lane or you can travel through dangerous neighborhoods. Life is a journey but the good news is you don’t have to go on that trip alone. God is on your side. Wherever you and whatever you do, He will never leave you. (Deuteronomy 31:6). Jesus is the best travel companion you can dream of. However, you and I need to acknowledge Him during this journey on earth. Too many times we decide to go it alone and we don’t let Him lead the way. All He wants is for us to let Him be the driver. Jesus wants to drive you places you could never imagine existed. He is aware of what’s ahead on the road of your life. He knows every corner, every field, every street, every valley and every road. He has already mapped out your life. The Holy Spirit is the compass that will guide you. The Word is the map where you will find yourself situated. Faith is the power that will get you over the mountains. Prayer will make your path clear. Praise and worship will bring the presence of the Lord that you need when your feet get weary and you are craving His comfort. The Bible says that “the path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day” (Proverbs 4:18). Your path, when you are walking with the Lord, will get brighter and brighter. You can expect amazing things on the way. Jesus will bring you through fields of blessings. He will show you the best scenery in the land. He will make you rest in the middle of green pastures (Psalm 23:2). He will also give you the best food in the land. He will take care of you every day. You will lack nothing on your journey. His provision is abundant. You can expect Him to carry you when you are tired (Matthew 11:28). Bad neighborhoods and deep valleys are inevitable but rest assured that Jesus has overcome the world so those dark places will not ruin your trip. He will get you out of them even stronger. You will learn a lot on your journey. With every stop you make, you will gain wisdom. Do not despise the breaks you will have to take. There are there for a reason. Shortcuts will often be acceptable but the Lord might want you to take the long way and develop patience. Life is a trip but you don’t have to travel alone. Jesus is always there and He will travel with you, protect you, carry you and show you the world through His beautiful eyes. He will go before you and make the crooked places straight (Isaiah 45:2). You will be blessed in the city and you will be blessed in the country (Deuteronomy 28:3). Safe travels!Suggested reading: John 16:33; Luke 3:5; Isaiah 42:16; 1 John 1:7
