When God is staring at you

God has not left you. God has not abandoned you. He has not disappeared and He has not run away from you. Your shortcomings, your mistakes and your iniquities do not turn Him away from you. God is staring at you when you pray. God is staring at you when you sin. God is staring at you when you cry. God is staring at you when you laugh. God is staring at you when you sleep. God is staring at you when you are wide awake. God is staring at you 24/7 because He loves you too much to take His eyes off of you, even for a second. God hasn’t closed His door on you. His door has been wide open and it is still inviting you to come in. His door doesn’t say “Closed, stay away.” The sign on His door says, “Come in, you who are heavy laden.” Today I am inviting you to knock on God’s door. Knock on His door if you have stepped outside of His comfort zone. God back to God. He is never far away but life distractions may have taken you away from Him. God is staring at you right now. Stare back at Him and embrace His love.

To stare is to look fixedly or vacantly at someone or something with one’s eyes wide open. God’s stare is not vacant. It is full of love, full of hope, full of peace, full of mercy and full of grace. God is staring at us fixedly with a deep love that keeps His eyes wide open. Think about how the stare of someone you love makes you feel. Does it make you happy? Does it make you feel appreciated? Does it make you feel safe? God is staring because He wants us to feel loved, joyful and safe among other things. How can we see Him stare at us?

God’s stare is present all the time even if we are not aware of it. You can see it in how much He blesses you. You can see it in how much He does for you. You can see it around you in the beauty of all He has created for you. You got saved because God had His eyes on you and you looked back. When you accepted Him in your heart, you stared back. You saw the face of love. You saw the face of hope. Go back to that initial staring back. Go back to seeing His face as if it were the first time. Stare back at the Lord by praying every day. Stare back at Him by staying focused on Him every day. Praise Him. Worship Him. Thank Him. These are ways you can stare back and smile back at Him. God hasn’t left you, friend. He is staring at you waiting for you to look back at Him. Keep your eyes on Love. Keep your eyes on hope. Lock eyes with the Lord every day!
