“Stay with Jesus” is an encouragement I get deep down in my heart throughout the day now more than ever. It’s not like I run away from Him or abandon Him on purpose. I set my intentions for the day in the morning during prayer time and everything I say is full of hope, joy and love. The Holy Spirit amplifies every word and every thought about Jesus during prayer. When I am done praying you could think that I have an armor that is invincible. I do. That’s what prayer does. However, as the day goes on, I find myself facing situations that make me feel like I get stripped off the armor and I am left with just the bare minimum to make it through the rest of the day. It takes some bad news, one word, one comment and my world can be turned upside down. It’s then up to me to stay with Jesus or to crumble and forget about Him. My encouragement today is to build the foundation that allows you to stay with Jesus all day. From the moment you wake up until the time you go to bed.
People who have a strong and solid relationship stick together through thick and thin. Jesus promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. He will stay by our side no matter what. If you could see Him with your very eyes, you would notice that He is constantly around. He doesn’t budge. He doesn’t run from us. There is nothing we could say or do that could make Him feel differently about us. There is nothing we could be go through that would make Him fear or disappear. In your best moments, He is there. In your worst times, He is there. His relationship with you is powerful. It is unshakable. Now you are the one who needs to keep your end of the bargain in all circumstances.
It has taken me a long time to be able to “stay with Jesus” all day long. When I would leave the house in the morning, I would leave Jesus behind me so to speak. I had to find a remedy to that. Talking to Him is what did it for me. The minute I leave the house I have an inner dialogue going on. If I have nothing to say, I thank Him. If I can’t pray, I praise Him. I pull Him into every situation through the day by acknowledging Him and lifting Him up. You see, if you manage to lift Him up higher than your problem, you have found an amazing way to live. “Thank You Lord that you are above all the heavens and earth. You have authority over the whole world and nothing can stop You” is a prayer that I say often in my head. I say it out loud when I can as well.
Friend, bring Jesus into everything you do. Give Him the front seat. Put Him before you by thinking about Him as much as you can. “What would Jesus do? What would Jesus say?” are two valuable questions to ponder throughout the day. Stay with Jesus by resorting to Him as much as you can. When something happens to you, ask yourself whom you are turning to. Are you magnifying the circumstances or are you amplifying Jesus? Make your relationship with Him stronger by all means. Then through thick and thin you will stick with Him and realize that He is always there. Stay with Jesus!
