Having peace that surpasses all understanding

Do you think you always know what to ask when you pray? I know that I don’t but I found out early on that the Holy Spirit can help us with that. He is our guide and our coach. He can instill thoughts and ideas in us. He plants a seed and if we receive it, it grows into a plant of knowledge or a flower of peace. Knowledge is important. Understanding and knowing what we need is crucial. Peace is amazing. Having peace in all situations is a true gift. The Holy Spirit can give us knowledge to understand what is best for us and peace to accept it and be fine with it. Peace of mind is one of those things that we all need but we don’t necessarily long for. Our needs can appear to be primarily materialistic to us when in fact the Lord says we need to treat the inside to better deal with the outside.

One thing I pray for on a regular basis is to maintain peace of mind. When things get a little rocky, I must ask for peace to come back. It is never gone when you think about it. There are blockers that prevent us to see it or to enjoy it at times but it doesn’t mean that peace is gone. When you have peace, it is easier to have faith. Peace is a friend of faith and it provides much more than material goods. What good is a million dollars if we don’t have peace to enjoy it? What good is a mansion if chaos and quarrels reign supreme in it? Peace of mind is like an extra coating of protection for our minds and for our hearts. It is a barrier against disappointment. It is a layer that protects us from fear and worry. Peace of mind is a blessing from the Lord that we ought to seek. How do we find it? We find it in the Lord. Today I want to encourage you to go after peace before you go after anything else. Peace will change the way you see yourself and the way you apprehend life. Peace is a pacifier that mutes negativity and that calms the most frantic minds.

Jesus said He was giving us peace. If there is one person who knows about peace it certainly is Jesus. He created it so He knows the ins and outs of it. His peace is not like the peace of the world. His peace transcends all understanding. It is above and beyond what is naturally possible. It is pure, it is noble and it is supernatural. The peace the Lord gives us can stop all confusion and all fear. His peace is a lot more powerful than we tend to think. It is not of this world. It is not limited. It can appease the worst storms and control the worst tension. Peace of mind with God is peace of heart. It drops into our hearts and it gives us a glimpse of what it is like to share God’s heart. Peace connects us to His heart where peace is always present. When I spend time in prayer, I always feel peace. I get an impartation of the Lord’s peace. It is just amazing and it is always what I need.

When it comes to deciding what we need the most, asking the Lord for help is always a good idea. When we have a need or we are going through a hard time, peace of mind is what we should ask for first because it will allow us to see things clearly. Today as you present your need to the Lord, ask for peace of mind. Ask for His peace that surpasses all understanding. Believe that He will give it to you not the way the world gives peace but His way. He will plug in His peace where perplexity was and you will find joy again. He will rub His peace all over your mind and erase all disorientation and bafflement. His peace will delete the thoughts that were leading you down the wrong path. Receive it in faith. Embrace it. Thank God for peace. Celebrate Him for peace. Peace is coming, friend. God will give it to you as you wait in faith. It’s on its way and it’s going to change your ways for the better. Hold on to peace!
