God made you for a great purpose

I asked God for a verse that I could meditate on and pray into my life. I find that when I spend time asking the Holy Spirit for revelation about a verse, that revelation becomes a part of me and stays with me for some time. Once it is in me, I pray that it gets into my life and that it turns into something that I live out. I don’t want to read the Word of God and never apply it. It doesn’t make sense to me. God’s Word is alive and when we accept it, whatever verse we embrace is meant to be applied. It transforms us and it gives us more of God’s life. I love how alive the Word is. It speaks to me and it changes me. When I asked for a verse, the Lord gave me Ephesians 2:10. I looked it up and read it a few times. It says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This verse blows my mind. It started pouring some solid revelation into my spirit almost as soon as I read it. You and I friend, are God’s handiwork and we have a beautiful purpose. If today you are struggling with who you are or if you don’t know what your purpose in life is, let me remind you that you are God’s handiwork and you were made for a great purpose.

You are God’s handiwork. What does handiwork mean? Handiwork is something that someone has made or done. It is plain and simple but it can be a lot of different things. It can be small or it can be big. It can be of little significance or it can be of great importance. God the creator of Heaven and earth made you. To Him you are not of little significance. You mean the world to Him and you matter greatly. He values you and He is proud of how He made you. To Him you are not small. To Him you are a masterpiece and you have great attributes. You are not like anyone else and you are just the way you should be. The Lord delights in you and He is very glad that you are who you are. You were created in Christ. You are the Lord’s spitting image. There is God in you. He is a part of you and He wants you to see Him in you. Don’t undermine who you are. Who you are is how God wants you to be. You are unique and a special part of God. Next time you think you are not worthy, remember who made you. He believes you are exceptional and He would love for you to understand that. You were not created in the enemy. You are not the fruit of hate. You were made by love, God’s love. His love is perfect. His love has no fear in it. Don’t be afraid of who you are. Don’t be afraid of God in you but celebrate Him in you. Thank God for creating you. Not in a bragging way but in an accepting way.

Not only were you made by God but you were made for a reason
. There is a purpose to your life. Your main purpose is to know God. Know God, love God and love others. Knowing God is a life-long journey that never ends. There is always more that you can get to know and experience. What a great purpose! You were also made to do good works. What do those good works look like? I think they are different for everyone. Anything that blesses others is good work. Anything that exalts the Lord is good work. Anything that pleases God is good work. Anything that helps build the kingdom of God is good work. Anything that promotes God’s love is good work. Anything that gets people closer to God is good work. You could make a list for yourself but I am sure you know what good works look like. Stay in a partnership with the Holy Spirit and you will do all the good works that God has planned for you to do. God made you a wonderful and loving “worker who can do a lot of good in this world in His name. Enjoy how God made you. Enjoy your purpose. Enjoy the good work!
