If God were to show up in your living room and talk to you, what do you think He would talk about? He would definitely talk about you because He adores you. He would talk about why He loves you. He would explain love. God’s love is so hard for us to comprehend because we are so familiar with human love. When He comes into our lives, we get a portion of His love but His love is a giant. It is a giant that no forces of the enemy can conquer. There is nothing and no one that can break God’s love. It is invincible and yet we often think it is invisible. His love is tangible and it is present today. You and I are where we are because of God’s love. What is the best way to understand God’s love? We have to go to the source. We have to look at how the Lord expresses His love. To Him love means giving. He loved us so much that He gave His only Son so we would not perish and so we could have eternal life. God loved by giving. God still loves by giving. Jesus came to give us life and give it to us more abundantly. When we accept the life Jesus bought for us, we accept God’s love. We accept the gift that no one else can give. Today I am inviting you to meditate on God’s love and to duplicate His love by giving. Think of what you can give. Think of the love that you can spread especially during these tough times. The world needs some giving. The world needs God’s love. Let’s be givers today! Let’s distribute love around us the best way we can.
I go on long walks these days. I call them my prayer walks, my power walks. I cross path with a good number of people. We all engage in social distancing and walk away from each other but we acknowledge each other. I have received more smiles in the past week from strangers than ever before. There is an unspoken comradery in the air. There is a collection of smiles that gives you a depiction of hope. We see love, we feel it and we enjoy it. A smile can go a long way. I give as many smiles as I can. Every time I see someone during my walk, the Lord tells me how much He loves that person. There has been an outpouring of His love in my heart and it is overflowing. It comes out as a smile and as a prayer in my heart. Praying for others is giving. It is giving some of our time and attention to someone else. It is giving someone the opportunity to be blessed. It is giving a voice to those who don’t know about God or who don’t know they can talk to God. It’s giving hope in a world where discouragement is rampant. You and I can give every single day. What we give doesn’t have to be seen by everyone. It can be done in the privacy of our prayer closet but it must be done. Let’s give the gift of prayer to our loved ones and to strangers. Everyone you run into needs prayers. No exception!
Can you think of other ways you can give? I love hearing about how people give. It inspires me and it motivates me. Jesus inspires me and He motivates me to give. I aspire to give more like Him. I will continue to study Him in His Word and learn from Him. Today I know we all have a part to play. We can all share God’s love in our own ways. We all have something positive to give whether it is a word of encouragement, a helping hand or simply a smile if we have to keep our distance. Giving brings us closer to God and it bridges the gap. It puts us in a place where we can understand God better and where we can transfer His love to others. The world needs more love transfers these days. I pray that you will pass on the love and keep giving what the world is in desperate need of. I pray that we continue to distribute smiles to strangers, love to anyone and gifts of peace and joy to the world! Jesus is the best gift we can share with the world! God’s gift to the world is Jesus and we can re-gift Him over and over again. He is the gift that keeps on giving. The gift that keeps on loving. Pass on God’s gift to the world every day!
