Do you ever feel stuck? Do you ever feel like you are not going anywhere? Do you feel like you are not making progress? It usually happens when we compare ourselves with others and we see people that are far in front of us. We are not supposed to run the same race. Those people might be far in one area of their lives and behind in another one. They might seem to be ahead of the race when there really should not be a race between them and us. I used to feel like my own race should be going faster. I felt like I wasn’t doing enough or my life wasn’t moving fast enough. I had this desire to run faster and faster but I wasn’t even sure where I was going. Then the Lord stopped me. Then He opened my eyes to a reality where my race was going well and He was the One coaching me and spotting me. Life can be a race or a boxing ring. We get beaten and we get up again but because we are in that ring, we expect to get hit again. The Holy Spirit can guide us out of that boxing ring mentality and train us to expect “God things” to happen in our lives. When we are stuck and all we believe is that we will never move again, we don’t expect “God things” to happen. “God things” are blessings, messages, revelation, an outpour of love, wisdom, peace, joy. It is basically anything that God has to offer and He has a multitude of options. With God you are going something. Even when you feel you are stuck, as long as you have the Lord, you are moving in the right direction. Today I want to remind you that you won’t be stuck in that one spot forever. You are on the move. With God you are making progress. Things are happening.
The key is to develop a mentality where you expect “God things” like I mentioned before. You can be stuck and never move if your mind is expecting to be stuck forever. A lot of what holds up back can be found in our thinking. It is true that bad things can happen to us. They will happen. There is no sugarcoating life but the way we approach those bad things makes all the difference. We have a choice. We can go along with those bad things and let them grow and continue or we can put our foot down and refuse to let them rule our lives. Option two is the best option. It’s the option where we bring Jesus into the scene. His entrance starts in our minds. We bring Him in through our thinking. It is a simple start. Just the thought of Him can be enough to begin ascending towards hope. Just the mention of His name can be enough to start breaking the barriers of negative thoughts and to give us the assurance that this is not the end. You see, the enemy wants us to believe that we are stuck forever and that things can’t get better. Things will always get better with the Lord. It might not happen overnight but when we turn to Him, good things are put in motion. There is so much happening behind the scenes that we are not aware of but we should trust and believe that God is working on our behalf.
The whole time you are thinking you are stuck, you should focus on what’s in front of you. God is in front of you. He is with you and He is leading the way. You are not behind other people. You are behind Jesus and as long as you are behind Him, you are exactly where you should be. I need to say this again. As long as you are behind Jesus, you are exactly where you need to be. Being behind Him means that you let Him guide you and lead the way. It means that you are surrendering yourself to Him and you are humbling yourself. It means that you put Him first and you recognize that He is more important than anything and anyone else including yourself. With Him you are going somewhere that is beautiful and that is unique. Your race and your path are very special and custom made. Continue to follow Jesus. Continue to pray, to trust, to praise and to thank Him. Don’t give up. You are heading somewhere. You will get there and you will understand someday why your journey has been the way it has been. It is not a mistake and it is not an error. God has you where you should be. Walk with Him. Walk with Jesus. Keep Him in plain view in front of you. Don’t take your eyes off Him. You are on the move!
