Having a “God reaction” to life

I talk a lot about prayer because it is one of my favorite things to do. It fills me with joy and anticipation. It encourages me and it lifts me up. It is the best medicine in addition to the Word of God. A dose of the Word of God added to a good dose of prayer is a powerful combination that helps me face every single day. I have the confidence that no matter what comes my way, I can rise to the occasion because greater is the One who He is in me than the one who is in the world. I can make it through every single day because the Lord is on my side and His Spirit is my coach and my motivator. Every day is a day with great potential depending on how I decide to approach it. The first few hours of my day are very crucial. What I say first, what I do first determines what my day is going to be like so I pray first and I praise first. Praise and prayer being my first outlets of the day makes my day a wonderful experience. Things happen. Problems arise but my morning power-packed combo makes my faith rise above the difficulties. There is so much to look forward to every day. There is so much to fear every day but I choose to look forward to the hand of the Lord in my life. Today is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I am inviting you to join me on this amazing day. Join me and start your day with the power-packed combo of prayer and praise. Stay in the truth of the power of prayer and indulge in praise in the morning and all day. Start your day with Jesus and you will have great days! When you do, you will have a “God reaction” to life. Let me explain.

I once heard that I could choose what type of day I was going to have and I rejected that idea. I used to think that I had to be a victim of everything that happens to me during the day. I used to think that I had to take the good and bad and just go through the motions. That is not what the Lord says. He is not interested in us being passive and suffering throughout the day. When something bad happens to us, our reaction should be a “God reaction” and not a defeated reaction. We can look at our circumstances and accept them for what they are or we can look at them and refuse to endure the pain and the suffering. How? We should turn them over to the Lord and stay strong knowing that He will come through for us. It is my morning power combo that allows me to have more and more God reactions. Prayer keeps me in a hopeful and joyful state and the fact that I do it every day helps me develop spiritual resilience and strength. It is my constant communication with the Lord that reassures me and that gives me the confidence that things are going to be more than ok. I have “God reactions” that defy my situations and that challenge what the enemy is trying to do in my life. He is only here to steal and destroy but prayer and praise dip me into the sweet honey of God’s presence and in His presence I fear nothing. In His presence I know that I am going to make it. In His presence I find peace and comfort. Having a God reaction is a beautiful and stimulating experience that can take place every day.

Invest time in developing a “God reaction.” Time is of the essence and when we use it to be with God, we get more into His mind and into His heart. We get into the depth of His wisdom and His secrets and we can learn how to react and how to act. God doesn’t stop and wonder if life is going to harm us. He knows that with Him on our side, we can make it and we can get the best out of life. A “God reaction” is also a reaction that recognizes and that sees the blessings of the Lord in our lives. It is a reaction that says “Things might be bad now but I have a lot of blessings and the joy of the Lord is in me.” It is a reaction that doesn’t give trials and tribulations permission to rob us of our peace and joy. It is a reaction that rebukes the evil in the world and that promotes love. It is a reaction that responds with love and with determination. The determination to celebrate Jesus despite all the misery around us. A “God reaction” is a reaction dictated by faith and fueled by hope. It is a reaction that knows that the Lord is in control. It is the best reaction we can have. Train yourself to have “God reactions” to life. You can do it with His help. Stay strong!

  1. Oh my…this is a terrific and thoughtful piece of writing and I am right there with you!

    Romans 12:2
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

I woke several mornings ago feeling grumpy. I climbed out of bed and said out loud, “You can be grumpy or you can be full of joy in the Lord. It is your choice!” I picked joy! And by prayer and praise, I was filled with joy! Hallelujah!!
Thank you for this reminder!! God bless you!!
