I know some people who would do anything to save other people. I know some people who serve in the army and who have made a commitment to protect other people. I find it admirable and brave. I was talking to a friend who had served in the army the other day and he was telling me about the battles he had survived and how his family back home was the only thing that kept him going. He said he had hope because the love of his family was powerful. He stayed strong in the war because love had won all the battles in the world. He had a lot of faith in love. It made me think of how Jesus won all the battles of the world and His love keeps us going. His love is the hope we can hang on to and we can use as a source of strength. My friend felt like he wasn’t alone on the battlefield because his family was present in his heart. You and I are not alone on the battlefield because Jesus is present in our hearts. He goes with us wherever we go and He keeps the light of hope on. Every day can be a battle. Every day there can be something that makes us feel alone or that deflates our spirits. Every day we have Jesus. Every day hope is present and it pumps up our spirits. Some of the toughest wars can be won when we are aware of the One who won all battles. Some of the toughest battles can be won when love is what we believe in. Today I want to remind you to hold on to love. Believe in the love of God. Believe that your battles have been won and love paid the price for all of them. Believe that you are going to come out of those battles victorious and you are going to see another day with the Lord by your side. You will win every battle when you trust the Lord who never fails.
You will win battles in the name of Jesus. You are not supposed to lose and you are not supposed to give up. Stay confident that each battle has already been won. When you are facing a difficulty, remind yourself that there is nothing too difficult for the Lord and He has dealt with that difficulty on the cross. Your problem was seen thousand years ago. Jesus saw it on the cross. Jesus felt the pain and the agony from your problem. He knew what you would feel and what you were going to go through. He didn’t passively experience it all. He conquered it. He came back to life and defeated your problem. Now, remember that He did that for every single trial and tribulation that would come your way. Some of them didn’t get filtered in and made it to the other side. They were all stopped from going any further. They are not going to ruin you and to destroy you. Your part of the battle is to stay in faith and to trust that God will make everything better. Nothing is more powerful than the name of Jesus so when you are in a jam, call upon the name that stops the traffic jam of trials and tribulations. His name can make all these bad things move out of the way and give you the space to navigate through life in peace without the commotion of problems and difficulties.
Jesus said that in this world we would have tribulations but we should take heart because He has conquered the world. That verse is one of the most encouraging verses in the Bible to me. It fills me with joy, with hope and with faith. Jesus cared so much for us that He took care of everything that will ever come against us. He conquered the world. Can you imagine? No matter where we are in life, no matter where we go, we will always have the truth by our side and that truth specifies that Jesus has conquered the world. Take the entire world and all the problems, all the chaos and all the issues in it and know that all of them have been conquered. It is reassuring when you think that Jesus has done the work. In His name we are more than conquerors. We have overcome the world thanks to Him. We have come out triumphant thanks to Him. Like I said earlier, our job is to stay in faith and to keep believing in the power of the Lord. Keep believing that His power is stronger than all the fiery darts of the enemy. Keep believing that it all ends well in His name. Don’t give up. You might be facing some tough battles today but you will find out that God gave you those battles because you can handle them in His name. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
