The God of encouragement

I love that God is so encouraging. I couldn’t get through the day without His daily encouragement. What I do is load up on encouragement first thing in the morning. I start every day in prayer and part of my prayer time is meditative. I just sit still and wait. I wait on the Lord and enjoy His presence. For some reason, 5 am is the best time for me to be in prayer and to receive messages of encouragement and wisdom. There are days when I get waves of hope and I ride them high and proud. There are days when all I can think of during that prayer time is Jesus. My mind gets saturated with Him and I am extremely focused on Him. There are other times when I can’t say a word because His words flow so fast and they are filled with encouragement. He gets my undivided attention. What I hear the most in the morning is, “Do not worry and do not fear.” The Lord is so encouraging and His words hit me like a brick from Heaven. He makes me so joyful. He knows what to say and how to say it. He knows what I need to hear. He knows what to come and most of the time His words are about events to come. I keep them in my heart and I get ready to use them when needed. The truth is I need God’s encouragement all the time. I know that you do too, friend. Find a way to hear from God. Find out what your “5 am” looks like. Put yourself in a position to receive God’s encouragement.

I have been spending more time reading my Bible in the evening. I go from chapter to chapter and I pause to let the knowledge sink in. I also take time to pray when I am reading. I pray before I start reading and when I am reading. The Holy Spirit can reveal a lot to us when we rely on His guidance and His interpretation. A lot of what comes out of my Bible time is encouragement. My Bible is my preferred source of encouragement after the Holy Spirit. They both work together. The Lord is His Word and when we communicate with the Holy Spirit, He tells us what we ought to know and He points out lessons, suggestions, recommendations and nuggets of wisdom. I get so excited when I dive into the Word of God after charging my spirit with the hope of the Holy Spirit working in me. Praying to Him is what starts the process. I suggest you always pray before you enter the Word. You will find yourself in the house of peace of the Lord where wisdom lives and serenity is supreme. Go into the house of the Lord and you will be very encouraged every time. There are no situations in your life that the Lord can’t help you with. He will encourage you through the worst times so you don’t lose hope. Trust Him!

God is always encouraging. He is never going to discourage you and to bring you down by screaming judgement an condemnation at you. He is there to motivate you and to gently push you in the right direction. When things are not going well, things are always good according to the Lord. He knows how to point out the good that is going on even when you don’t think that anything is good. How does He do it? For Him no situation is hopeless. Nothing is helpless. Nothing is impossible. Nothing is broken forever. Nothing is irreversible so He always has hope. What He does is rub His hope off you when He encourages you. Ask for encouragement every day. Look for it by isolating some time to be with God. Look for it by trusting that the Lord has what you need. Look for it in the Word of God. Look for it by believing that God loves you enough to encourage you. God has the words of encouragement you need for every day. Start your day with Him. Start your day open to His voice. He has a lot to tell you and it is all very good. Stay encouraged! The Lord is always with you. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
