God will supply your needs according to His riches in glory. The Bible doesn’t mince its words here. God will give us what we need when we rely on Him and He will get the supplies from Heaven. This indicates that there is unlimited provision and God can give us absolutely anything we need. Some people have used that verse to build the prosperity gospel. I do believe that God can make us rich but is that His first goal for our lives? When we enter the house of the Lord, His Spirit is what we should notice first, not the Rolex and the Louis Vuitton. Our needs are spiritual first and foremost because what we need the most is to know Jesus and to be more like Jesus. This doesn’t mean that our physical and financial needs can’t be met by God. He is God. He can do anything. However, He desires for us to be part of His kingdom more than to be part of an elite club.
I have had lunch at the Harvard Club in New York city a couple of times thanks to a friend who invited me. I enjoyed the experience and the food was delicious. I had to dress a certain way to be let in. I am glad that with the Lord we don’t have to look a certain way or act a certain way to be accepted. He loves us and He wants the very best for us. Before we run elbows with the club members of the world, we ought to sit at the table of the Lord and get the food from Heaven that we need. We all have major spiritual needs. We all have to grow and learn more about God. The good news is that the Lord Himself can help us grow and learn and He will provide. Today I want to remind you that God will give you what you need. Trust that He can and He will. He will bless you spiritually, physically, emotionally and financially. Remember that He is Spirit and your spiritual life is more important than the other parts of your life.
It’s amazing to think that we have the Holy Spirit to assist us all the time. He is a gentleman who shows us the way and who comforts us. I have found myself asking for help many times and I have had to hold on to hope and faith when nothing seemed to happen. One thing I have learned is that when I need something material or money, God does a work in me first. He touches my heart and He puts something in my spirit that changes me. It usually involves patience and long suffering. He knows how much I need those traits. The money that I need will come. The provision will come and in the meantime I should focus on the fruit of the Spirit in me. That is one of my main needs and God makes sure that He opens my eyes to that need. Then it is up to me to develop the fruit and understand that God is meeting my needs. I speak about God’s abundance in my life all the time. I try to speak of His provision for me a few times a day with the understanding that my spiritual needs are a priority. God will supply your needs according to His riches in glory, friend. That is quite a lot of riches. That is more than all the riches in the world combined. Don’t worry about what you don’t have. With God it will come to pass. Stay in faith. All your needs will be met. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
