The power of God

How powerful is God? Will we ever be able to know? I don’t think that anyone can understand the magnitude of the power of God but we can get glimpses of it and we can experience it. How come we don’t see the power of God in action a lot? Does it mean His power has dwindled? Does it mean He is less powerful? God can’t change. His power is the same as it was in the Bible. Jesus couldn’t perform many miracles in His hometown because of people’s lack of faith. People doubted Him and didn’t welcome Him. The same is happening with the power of God. There isn’t that much faith in it. A lot of people believe in the “power” of social influencers more than they believe in the power of God. In some Christian circles, the power of God is talked about as a thing of the past. In other circles, the power of God is regarded as something that is reserved for the chosen few. There are many scenarios where God’s power is not trusted or not known. We need God’s power. We need it not only for our lives but we need it to be able to serve Him and touch other people’s lives. God’s power is as alive and well just like Jesus is alive and well. Sometimes we understand that Jesus is alive but we don’t associate Him with power or we give Him limited power. He is almighty. He is all powerful. He can do all things. Today I want to encourage you to meditate on the power of God. Let it become real in your mind and in your spirit. Develop faith in it and you will see it manifest in your life.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is Your kingdom. We adore You as the One who is over all things.”* This verse is a great declaration. It should be added to our prayers. We should say it and hear it often. Remember that faith comes from hearing and hearing from the Word of God. Expose your mind to the truth that is in that verse. Let it sink in. See it as a declaration to God and as a reminder to yourself that you serve a great God. Personalize it and say “I” instead of “we.” Tell God you adore Him and tell Him that you know He is big, He is great and He is invincible. The adjective “invincible” is a great word to describe God. It means that no one and nothing can conquer God. No one can defeat Him. Keep that word on the front burner and use it as often as possible. When things get tough, you will be reminded that your problems can’t prevail against God because He is invincible. He has the power to fix anything and to remove any difficulties.

“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”** When we are weak, the Lord is still strong. His power can be seen when we are weak. Have you ever experienced God’s power in your life at a time when all seemed lost? His power seems even more amazing because He takes care of something that appeared to be hopeless. His grace is wonderful. God is so powerful that even when there is no faith He can do something great for us. It is not always the case. It is all due to His grace but it does happen and those miracles leave us in awe. I can tell you about many times when the Lord showed up for me when I was down in the dumps. His power changed the course of my life on many occasions. I am in such awe of the Lord. He is my almighty Savior who can do all things. See Him as the God of the impossible. See Him as the One who has unlimited power and unlimited love for you.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.”*** God is our strength. We are backed up by His power. The power of the Lord is behind us. We have all the support we need and all the power we need to make it in this life. God has the power to change every part of our lives when we trust Him and we have faith in Him. Let’s be believers that know that God is still powerful today and that experience His love and presence all the time. Let’s be readers of the Word who understand that what happened in the Bible can happen today. There are oceans to be parted in our lives and the Lord can do that. Let’s thank the Lord for His power every day. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
