Nothing without God

I am nothing without God. I wouldn’t be here without Him. I am not the center of my universe. I can’t be. I used to be and things didn’t work out well. I didn’t know what I was doing. When Jesus first became my savior, I had no idea that putting Him first meant living a better life. It sounded too much like a sacrifice I wasn’t willing to make. My whole being was telling me that God was there for me and I wasn’t there for Him. I let my flesh dominate me. My spirit didn’t agree but my body and my mind were strongly convinced that God was more like a genie that was there to fulfill my wishes. I have heard similar ideas  in the church. People believe that God loves us so much that He would do anything for us. It is true. He sent His Son for us but it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t serve Him. It is quite the contrary. As believers we should have a God-centered mentality where God means everything, God is who we need and He is more important than us. It is the idea of dying to self and decreasing so He can increase.

As a young Christian I used to think that I was doing well on my own. I used to think that I could manage on my own and I didn’t need God. God could give me a lot but most of what I had or I was able to do was because I was a strong independent individual. I was so wrong. I was so flawed. I was so imperfect. Self-righteousness is extremely dangerous and it was something that I adhered to without completely understanding it. I had the wrong approach. I used the verse “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” but I kept Christ out of the equation. In my mind, I could do all things. When I was in high school, I believed that I was a very good student because of my abilities and I never thanked God for giving me the wisdom and the knowledge I had. I came to the conclusion that I was very smart and I developed a slight (intellectual) complex. According to God, no one is better than anyone. According to God, we are nothing without Him and we need Him desperately all the time and not just when we are desperate.

It was when I realized that I was nothing without God that my life changed. That realization set some great things into motion. It taught me that I had to be more devoted to God. It showed me that I had to honor God and revere Him. It led me to make the sacrifice of praise and worship the Lord from the bottom of my heart. It stressed the importance of giving my whole heart to the Lord. God is everything and with Him I become something. God is everything and with Him my life is short of being perfect. God is everything and with Him I am on a journey where my worth is in Him. God is everything and without Him I am not the salt of the earth, I have no flavor and my life fades away easily. God is everything and with Him I find peace and freedom and I can grow spiritually.

We are nothing without God but we find meaning in Him. God should be at the center of everything we do and especially at the center of our hearts and minds. I have to redirect my thoughts and my intentions often to make sure they have the stamp of approval of the Lord because He is the One who is in control. I give Him control. I give Him first place. I have found that when I make Him the most important person in my life, He demonstrates that I matter to Him greatly. I make Him my priority and I understand that I mean the world to Him. I don’t want to put myself first anymore. I strive to follow the Lord and to exalt Him. My life is a daily praise to the King. I am not the most perfect worshipper but I do my best to please Him and to lift Him up. Friend, you are nothing without the Lord but with Him you are everything. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

God cares about your heart

I used to think that God was a distant entity who didn’t mingle with us humans very much. He was hard to approach and He was standoffish. Little did I know that He was the total opposite. He cares more than anyone I know. He cares more than my family and my friends. He is interested in all of us and in every part of our lives. He knows all there is to know about us and yet He acts like every part is very meaningful to Him. He could hate us because of who we are, because we are all sinners but He died for us so we could be redeemed and we could have a relationship with Him. That is just so amazing when you think about it! He has restored us and made us part of His family. One thing that God made clear to me is that He cares about my heart. He cares about my feelings and my emotions. I had never known Him to be that caring and I feel bad for all the people who have been misled and who believe that God is not concerned with our hearts. He is. What we think, what we feel and what we experience all matter to Him. God wants us happy and joyful. He wants to be the center of our lives because He knows that is the best thing for us. He is not arrogant, self-centered and selfish. The best thing we can ever live and experience is a relationship with Him and that is what He desires for us all to have. The very best is what we deserve in His eyes. Finding peace, joy and love is not an impossible goal. It can all happen when we stay close to God and we let Him lead our lives and impress us with His goodness. Our hearts go through so much because of everything that goes on in this world. The world will always be in turmoil and there will always be reasons for us to be troubled but Jesus cares. Jesus cares about your heart and mine. Remember that every day Jesus cares about your heart.

Jesus died for you. He died for your heart. He died so you would have a good life and you would be joyful. Joy is important to Him. He is joy. He is not a sad God. Whoever tells you that you have to be sad and down to please God is not well-informed. God would never want you to have the opposite of Him. He would never want you to have a life where the enemy is ruling your heart and filling it with negative junk. That junk is not from God and it will never be. Your heart is the engine of your spiritual being. Your heart is the core of your character and of your faith. When your heart is troubled, your faith is affected and your personality is contaminated for lack of a better word. Your heart is the director for the movie of your life. Your heart takes you into the right direction and into the wrong direction. Out of the abundance of your heart come good things or bad things. God cares about what’s in your heart and He encourages you to make sure that your heart is governed by Him and by love. Love should be the headmaster of your heart. God should be the king of your heart and everything else should be subject to Him. Take a look at what’s in your heart. You will find out what’s in it when you pay attention to what you say and to what you think about the most. Your thoughts and ideas will always find their way to your heart so it is crucial that you filter them and that you have a good handle on them. Jesus is the best filter!

God is very interested in what’s in your heart like I have been saying and that means that He has a plan for your heart and it is possible for your heart to be kept strong and to be joyful. God can help with your heart. He can show you how to keep it strong and how to fill it with joy and peace. The first step is to put Him in your heart. Know and understand that there is no substitute for God. He has to be the One you focus on and you adore. Develop a relationship with Him. Make Him the focus of your thoughts. You can achieve that by reading the Word, by praying more than usual and by praising the Lord. Don’t wait for church to praise and pray. Don’t wait for Sunday to talk to God. Give Him a chance to talk to you every day. Your heart can easily be impacted by the world so there is a need for a stronger relationship with the Lord. It takes time, effort and dedication but is it the best thing you can do. When you do, God will impart His peace and make your heart feel safe. He will pour joy into you and make your heart be glad. He will shower you with His love so you can give out His love to the people in your life. God cares about your heart and He has the power to keep it blessed and free from worry. God will remove worry and fear from your heart when you give your heart to Him. Trust Him with your heart! He will make you glad!

Your hiding place

God is your hiding place. He is your place of refuge. He is your shelter and your protector. He will always shield you and take care of you when you trust Him. There is no other place to be than to be in the house of the Lord and you and I are there. We might take a trip and leave His shelter but He always welcomes us back and He even keeps an eye on us when we go astray. God will protect you from trouble. It doesn’t mean that there will be no trouble. It means that when trouble comes knocking at your door, the Lord is there to answer the door. This all depends on your faith and you don’t need a lot of it for this to happen. Declare every day that the Lord is your refuge and your shield. When you get up in the morning be sure to make that powerful declaration. The more you do it, the more of a reality it will become to you. Be like David in the Psalms and talk about God’s goodness and His power. Just like David, make God synonymous with refuge and fortress. Don’t look for shelter in the wrong places. God is where true refuge and true shelter exist. Outside of Him there is no real protection. You can find a temporary shelter but when the storms are raging, the shelter will collapse. Join me today in celebrating our God, our refuge. Let’s stand our ground knowing that the King of kings, the Lord of lords is our protector always and forever.

I have gone through seasons when the storms were so bad that I couldn’t seem to find a place to hide and to stay dry. I have gone through periods when I was soaking wet with trials and tribulations. Those times weakened my spirit when I didn’t turn to the Lord. Those times made me stronger when I relied on the Lord. You see, storms will always happen. It is up to us to decide how we are going to react to them and how we are going to face them. I have made up my mind and decided that I would face them with the Lord even when He seems nowhere to be found. I seek His face daily and that has helped a lot. If we look for God only in times of trouble, we will have a harder time finding Him. If we seek Him every day, finding Him will be easy. It has to be part of our daily routines. It should be a reflex, a habit, a bit part of our lives. We should dwell in the house of the Lord. We should be dwelling in our hiding place. Let’s settle there and stay there. Let’s be comfortable with God and get to know Him. Let’s be aware of His goodness and His protection at all times. There are many places we could go but our hiding place should be our permanent address. Let’s forget about Sorrow lane and Sad avenue. Let’s avoid places like Fear street and Doubt road. God, our hiding place, is what our address should be.

What is a hiding place like? It’s a place where you are safe and you are happy. God goes that extra mile and gives us joy on top of the world’s happiness. When we dwell in Him, our joy is exponential. Our hiding place has a lot to offer and joy and peace are two of the benefits of living with God. In His place of refuge, you can grow spiritually. You can learn about love and faith and you can develop into the person you are meant to be. God will nurture you in His hiding place. He will raise you and bring you up in a beautiful way. You will learn how to step out in faith by spending time in His house. You can build up faith muscles and strength in your hiding place. You can stay undercover and enjoy the fruit of the Spirit every day. Know that it is not a place where you will hide from your problem but it is a place where your problems can’t get the best of you. They can taunt you and harass you but the Lord is at the door like I said earlier. He will always put a stop to the harassment and He will always surround you with His power and His kindness. Friend, you have the best hiding place. Live there all the time. Let prayer and praise keep you in your hiding place. Communicate with the Father daily in His house. Put on the garment of praise in His place and focus on Him. He has mansions for you in Heaven and He has a secure place to be right here, right now. Don’t be intimidated by the attacks of the enemy. Remind him that you are in the house of the Lord and he can’t harm you. Enjoy your hiding place. With God, you are always in the right place at the right time which is all the time!

How great is God’s love for you!

As I am getting closer to God, there is something that is becoming more and more obvious. I am discovering that God loves us unconditionally and in a very powerful way. I can’t gauge His love for us based on my human experience with love. His love is a giant compared to human love. His love is bigger and deeper than the oceans on this planet. We can’t measure His love and we can’t fully comprehend it but we get many glimpses of it and get comfort from those glimpses. I want to get as close to God as possible and in order to do that, I need to embrace His love for humanity and let it settle in my heart. I used to have so many walls around my heart that prevented me from approaching God and from accepting His love. Those walls were not meant to protect my heart but they were meant to keep me captive and to separate me from the love of God. However, there is nothing that can separate us from God’s love. He will always find a way to tear down the walls of the enemy and to touch our hearts. We have a role to play in that process. We need to open our hearts. The walls can come down but if we guard ourselves and we don’t allow ourselves to be loved, we will not know true love. Sometimes we feel unworthy. Sometimes we just don’t know and understand what being loved feels like and looks like. We have an idea of it portrayed in the media but that is not God’s love. We have the love from our family. It can be extremely strong but it’s not God’s love. There are many cases where there is no love at all and that makes it even harder to welcome God’s love. Today I want to invite you to open yourself even more to God’s love. Know that He adores you and you mean a lot to Him. He wants you to take His hand and let Him show you how much He cares for you.

How deep is God’s love for you? No one can answer that question except for God Himself. He tells us in His Word that He sent His Son for us. His Son died so we could live and live more abundantly. He did what it took to demonstrate the most powerful love in the universe. Your life now, your Christian life now, exists thanks to Jesus. It exists thanks to the Love that wouldn’t let go and that went all the way so there could be a way for you and me to conquer death. The Love that died for us did the impossible. It came back to life and it has never stopped living since. God’s love for you is alive, friend. It is alive and well and it will never leave you nor forsake you. It is an ardent love that can do all things. God’s love is the most powerful force in the universe and it is directed to you. You are the recipient of this amazing love so it is time you acted like the loved one that you are. Don’t let people ruin the love of God for you. Don’t let them describe it the wrong way. It is not human. It is not limited and it is not selective. God chose you and me. God loves you and me. God loves everyone. No exception. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It is a lie. We also need to remember that you and I are not loved more because we are Christians. God loves people from all religions, all ethnicities, all backgrounds, all walks of life. Every single person you will ever meet is loved by God. There is nothing superior about us just because we believe in Christ. God is no respecter of people and His love is always the same. This also means that there is nothing you and I can do that will ever make God love us less. It doesn’t give us a license to sin but it explains why God will always forgive us. The enemy will whisper to our ears that our sins are keeping us away from God and that we don’t deserve His love.

Friend, you deserve God’s love all the time. There are no special times when it is more acceptable for God to love you. His love for you has no conditions and no clauses. There is no fine print that says that His love is not guaranteed. It is always present and it is always vibrant. Rejoice in the Lord because you are loved. If you can’t find a reason to thank the Lord, thank Him for loving you. Thank Him for being with you all the time and for what He did for you on the cross. Celebrate Jesus. Celebrate the Love that will never let you down. Sing of His great love. Laugh and be merry because you are loved. Get filled with the joy that comes from His love. Next time you are facing difficulties, take some time and rejoice over the love of God. Take some time and shake off the pain and the misery by focusing on the Love that can’t die. How big is God’s love for you? You might never find out but know that it will always be bigger than the biggest love you can imagine. Nothing can separate you from God’s love. Nothing! Stay encouraged and enjoy the love that is coming to you from the One who died for you!

10 nuggets of wisdom for your Saturday (Part 162)

Praise is about Jesus and not about our feelings but He gives us feelings when we fix our eyes on Him.

Praise is an attitude of the heart that openly gives to Jesus and receives Jesus.

In the middle of the biggest distress, God can still come and change the script of your life. Don’t dwell on the pages of sorrow. Embrace the Book of Life and accept what the Word of God has to say about your situation.

The enemy will keep on trying to charge you for crimes you did not commit. Remember that God is the judge and that He is in your favor. He will get you out of the guilt and the confusion that the enemy uses against you.

Humble yourself before the Lord and pray. Keep seeking His face and approach Him with reverence. A humble heart goes a long way. Pray with the right agenda and you will learn the beautiful ways of the Lord’s humble and powerful love.

The Lord rejoices over you and He sings over you. His songs are upbeat, uplifting and encouraging. Tune in to His tunes and you will hear a symphony of love.

The results are in! You are going to make it and you are going to win. Jesus guarantees your victory. Don’t lose hope. Wait until He gets you to the finish line knowing that it all ends very well in the name of Jesus!

God painted a picture of your life. He never forgets what it looks like and He enjoys looking at it. Ask Him to show you what your life looks like and you will be impressed by what you see.

God’s goodness had no end. Your blessings have no end. Your victories have no end. Your hope has no end. Your joy has no end. Pray to the Lord who has no end and your life will be a series of “no ends” to His glory!

Don’t worry about the strong winds. God’s love is your anchor and it will keep you in one place. You will not be moved and you will not be shaken when you rely on the Lord and His unshakable love.

Following God

Following God is not always easy but it’s the best thing we can do. It’s not living a life on a bed of roses like I used to think. I used to believe that because I was a Christian I would never have bad days and I would never have difficulties. I was young and innocent. I had the faith of a child but I didn’t understand that faith was not the absence of problems. My childlike faith was met with a lot of resistance and it disappeared after a while. I was very confused and I didn’t understand what God was all about. I felt let down by God when in reality He was always my ally and my comforter. I misunderstood what following God meant. I had my own version of it in my head that didn’t agree with the Lord’s reality. Jesus Himself said that in this world we would have tribulations. For some reason I didn’t discover that verse until I was older or maybe I didn’t embrace it and I ignored it. Tribulations and trials are part of everyone’s life, even Christians’ lives. God doesn’t make us “problem-proof” but He solves our problems and He helps us overcome them. Following God will not be a walk in the park but it will always be a walk with the Creator of the universe and that is enough to keep us safe, calm and confident. Following Jesus implies having a lot of confidence and trust in Him. It is a blind walk toward eternity. It is a walk that doesn’t end just because there are hurdles and obstacles on the way. It is devotion to the Lord and surrender to His majesty. It is making Jesus our priority and walking in His footsteps knowing that we are on the right path no matter what life throws at us. Today I want to encourage you to follow the Lord. Follow Him all the time. Acknowledge that your best spot is the spot you occupy when you are behind Jesus and He is leading the way.

Following God is following His heart before anything else. It’s having an intimate relationship with the Father and letting our lives echo the sentiments of His heart. It’s staying close to God and becoming a spitting image of the Father. Like I said earlier, it’s being aware that Jesus is always before us and that He knows what He is doing. It’s having the best role model in the world and imitating Him. It’s letting love invade us and stay in us. We can’t follow God if we don’t adopt His love and embrace it. God without love is not God. We can learn from the Bible and have a lot of knowledge about the things of the Lord but if we don’t apply it all with love as our guide, we won’t amount to much. We will be like the Pharisees who intellectualized God and who denied that love was of the utmost importance. Following God is not following a doctrine or a man-made ideology. It’s idealizing God and putting Him on a pedestal. We can’t follow God if we keep putting ourselves ahead of Him. We ought to always hold on to His commandments and to His way of living and of thinking. We can learn about them in His Word and be “doers of the Word” who are indeed following the Lord’s principles and His wisdom. His wisdom should be our source of knowledge and our wisdom should take a backseat.

There is a lot of blindness involved in following God. We have to keep being blind to the world. Not pretending that the world doesn’t exist but not giving the world power over us. When our circumstances are bad, we can’t let the world intimidate us and we can’t take things at face value. Following God is a blind walk that uses faith as a flashlight in the darkest times of our lives. When we walk behind the Lord, we tell ourselves that nothing can separate us from His love and we will always be in good hands. We know that He is our protector and our refuge so we can keep on walking with peace in our hearts. Friend, you will never go wrong when you follow the Lord. You will always be where you should be. It’s not always going to be easy but it will always turn out to be the best thing you could ever do. Follow the Lord. Remain in Him. Let His words remain in you. Make Him the center of your life. Let Him be your life. His love will support you and His Spirit will guide you. Keep following the best role model in the universe!

Pray for others

God’s greatest commandment to us is to love Him and to love our neighbors like ourselves. It is a commandment that has been twisted and modified by men to the point where we tend to define what loving God and loving others look like. Our definition is sometimes miles away from the Lord’s definition. We add “but”, “except for” or “some” to that commandment. It sounds more like “Love God but love yourself more and love some of your neighbors like yourself” or “Love God and love your neighbors except for those who are different from you.” There are thousands of variants of that definition out there and it is sad. God plainly and powerfully stated that He should be our first love and that we should love everyone with no exception. It doesn’t matter if that doesn’t jive well with our upbringing or with our culture. It is God’s commandment and He made it clear that love should be unconditional. I am learning how to love God with all my heart and how to love my neighbors like myself. I will continue to learn and do my best and I am enjoying the lessons and the endless love possibilities that stem from God’s commandment. Now, one way we can show love for others is by praying for them. One way we can show love to God is to pray to Him.

The message I have had on my heart is to encourage you and to encourage myself to pray for others. Yesterday during prayer time the Lord spoke to me on the inside about powerful prayers that have no end. He told me about how there is always someone or something to pray about. There will always be tough situations that need to be broken by the power of prayer. There will always be someone who is suffering in private or in public and that person will need prayers. There will always be eyes that need to be opened to God, hearts that need to be mended, joy that needs to be restored, peace that needs to go into someone’s life and hope that needs to be revived. Everywhere we go we will always encounter a person that needs something from Jesus. Whether it is a smile, a hug, a word of encouragement or a prayer. The needs of this world will always be present and we are the ones who can help facilitate changes in this world in need through our prayers. We can pray for those who clearly need a breakthrough and we can pray for those who are not aware of what they need. Every single person you will ever meet can benefit from prayers. Every single person you will ever meet needs God’s love. Arm yourself with prayer and bring down the walls of fear, hatred, pain, anguish and perdition. You are praying to a God who can do all things so remember that your prayers are effective.

When you pray, God goes to battle. The battle belongs to Him. You don’t have to make things happen. All you have to do is pray and have faith. It is God’s will for your life that you are a person of prayer, a person of faith and above all a person of love. Your prayers are love letters about others that are penned in your heart by the Holy Spirit and that ascend to God the Father who is always listening. When you pray for others, you can’t go wrong. You are doing the right thing and you are sending love to that person. Don’t stop praying for others. Find someone new to pray for. Find situations to pray about. Bring it all to the Father in prayer and trust that He is answering. You might not see results right away and you might not understand how God is answering your prayers but know that He is. Nothing can stop the Lord. Nothing is impossible to Him and He is doing all the work. Don’t carry the prayers to the point where you think it depends on how powerfully you pray. The fact that you are even caring for someone else and that you are bridging the gap for them in Jesus’ name is very powerful. Let God’s love guide you. Stay in prayer and stay in faith. Pray as often as you can and for as many people as you can. No need to make a public announcement about your prayers but be sure to make a private declaration of victory in the name of Jesus. Pray for others every day. God’s love will flow to those who need Him and you will be walking in God’s will. Keep praying for others!

Hand it off to God

Sometimes all you have to do is hand it all off to God. All you have to do is admit that you can’t handle everything by yourself. Give God all your burdens. Give up control and give in to the One who is always in control. Sometimes a little bit of vulnerability goes a long way. There is no shame in being vulnerable before God. He loves it when we humble ourselves and we depend on Him. I have tried to control situations, thoughts and circumstances to no avail. It usually starts in my head. I analyze a situation over and over again. I convince myself that the more I think about it, the more I will be able to come up with a solution. The solution doesn’t always come and if it does, it’s not the best one. The Bible tells us to bring everything to the Lord. We are encouraged to cast all our fears upon the Lord. Now, if we don’t recognize our worries and fears and if we think they are minor details, we hinder the process of being set free from anxiety and stress. Handing everything over to God begins with recognizing that there are things we need to let go off. Jesus can take care of anything and everything but He won’t take things away from us by force. His Spirit will nudge gently but it is up to us to turn the page and let God write the next chapter by giving Him back control of the narrative. I want to invite you today to get into the habit of handing everything off to God. Go to Him first. Give Him the pain, the heartache, the headache and the worries. Cast your cares upon the Lord!

There is a point where things seem impossible for us. It looks like the point of no return. It’s the point where we have no clue how things are going to get better. We can get to that point fast and easily. The key is to keep our faith pointing in God’s direction. It takes practice and effort. God loves us so much that He said He would take care of what bothers us and what hurts us. When we pray, we can hand things over to the Lord. I have been praying more that way lately. I am getting used to casting my cares upon the Lord. The peace that has been sitting in my life for a while has been life-changing and amazing. However, there are still cracks that need to be watched carefully. Through those cracks, come stress and worry disguised in non significant thoughts that end up being bigger than the truth. It is my job to plug in those cracks and the best way I know how to do it is by praying. I pray and tell the Lord that I can’t handle the situation. I try to tell Him how everything makes me feel and I reject those negative feelings. I wasn’t meant to carry the burdens of life. Jesus did and He took care of them. I was meant to trust Him and to hand off the burdens every time they jump on my back. There is power in surrendering and power in admitting dependence on the Lord. The fruit of that dependence on Jesus is always good. It is sweet, bold and soothing. I got tired of eating sour grapes. Now, I have the fruit of the Spirit that cleanses my spiritual palate and that gives me the strength to handle life.

We can handle anything that comes our way when we are convinced that Jesus is the only way. He declared that He was the truth, the way and the life. We need Him all the time. We need His truth, His way and the life He gives. Whatever burden is sitting on you today is not too big for the Lord. The truth is that Jesus can do anything. He can remove anything. He can heal anything. He can make anything right again and He can change any situation. That is the truth you should use against the worries and burdens. There is a way. There is going to be a great way out of your problems. Give your problems to the Lord and you will see what He does for you. He is going to bring back life where everything seemed dead. This is not the end. This is not over. God will carry you through this tough time and you are going to be free again. Hand the worries off to God. Trade your sorrow for His gladness. Things are going to get better. Don’t get discouraged and don’t give in to fear. Greater is the One that lives in you than the enemy that lives in this world. Jesus is with you!

There is power in the name of Jesus

There is power in the name of Jesus. Think about what His name means. Think about the impact His name has on the world and on the history of our planet. His name is above all science, all theories, all ideologies and all concepts. His name means life. His name means life winning over death. His name is love and His name is hope. His name is charged with resurrection power and with truth over the lies of the enemy. His name resuscitates the most dead situations and it brings hope into the valley of death. Jesus is the name above all names and it will forever be the incarnation of God coming to earth to save the world. I smile when I hear His name. I get a boost when I hear His name. His name makes everything possible. His name gives us the ability to walk in this amazing life that He bought for us. His name means that the cross did what it was supposed to do. It took us into a life where an abundance of blessings, love and hope is prevalent. His name is stronger than the grave. Nothing could stop Jesus from coming back to life and His name captures that beautiful accomplishment. If you are desperate and you feel like nothing is going right in your life, call on the name of Jesus. Speak the name that changes situations. Speak the name that conquered death. His name is the winning name. There is power in the name of Jesus and that power is going to bless you, strengthen you and get you through anything you might be facing today.

Jesus’ disciples used His name to perform miracles and to cast out demons. They had faith in the name. They had spent time with the Lord and they knew Him. The enemy might be trying to destroy your life but when you hang on to Jesus’ name and you use it in faith, Jesus gets all the glory for saving you and for helping you. Give Jesus all the glory all the time. Lift up His name. His name is a game-changer. You can’t use His name and not see a change in the games that the enemy is playing with your life. Jesus’ name cuts through the lies and demands restoration. What has been stolen from you is going to be restored in the name of Jesus. His death and His resurrection restored life and you are going to benefit from that reconditioning.

The day my life changed

The day I accepted Jesus as my Savior, the day I gave my life to Him is the day when everything changed. I have had many key events in my life that have changed the trajectory of what I thought was going a certain way but the day I met Jesus was the most significant change. I can’t remember what my life was like before because it was so bad. I can try and remember but what comes to mind is not a pretty picture. Jesus came into my life and repainted everything. He gave color to my darkest moments and He flipped my world upside down. Before meeting Him I thought that I was part of an exclusive club. A club where every member had bad luck, no hope and limited moments of happiness. I was stuck in that club and I longed to see what life was like outside that restricted environment. The club became comfortable because that is all I knew but it was not a joyful place. I saw joy on the outside but I didn’t know how to come out of the cage where despair had locked me for so long. Jesus opened the gate and let me out. He gave me His hand with a gentle smile. He introduced me to a new way of life. He showed me what life was all about. All the things that had been taken from me started showing up. Jesus gave me the rights that I thought only belonged to the lucky few. It wasn’t luck. It was His blessings. It was His love. His love brought a change. His love shifted everything and put me on a new path. The day my life changed is when Jesus became my life and it was only the beginning.

The day my life changed was a gateway into a more beautiful life. It was my exit from the cage of sorrow and my entrance into a better life. My salvation started when I accepted Him as my Savior and it has continued. Salvation is here and now and will never end. I believe sometimes we think of salvation as the time when we go to Heaven. Salvation doesn’t take place when we get saved and then takes a break until we go to be with the Lord. You and I are living our days of salvation today and that major change in our lives is still going on. Once I understood that truth, I saw my life in a different light. I received Jesus and He stayed with me. He never left and He will never leave. Today I am walking in the beauty of my salvation. Tomorrow I will still walk in the light of my salvation and that light will follow me forever. This means that my life is changed. It wasn’t changed at one point in time and then regressed to its old ways. It is continually changing for the best. I can’t expect misery to put me back in that cage. I have renounced my membership at the club of despair. I don’t belong there and I won’t let the enemy or my thoughts put me back there. I am free. The Spirit of the Lord is in me and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.

You and I live an amazing life because we have an amazing Savior. It is not always a bed of roses but the Lord always takes care of every thorn and He weeds out the trials and the tribulations. Nothing is impossible to Him. Before Jesus, nothing was possible or so it seemed. Now, our lives are a series of endless possibilities from Heaven. We should be expecting great things from the Lord. We should be rejoicing over Him every day and thanking Him for giving us peace, joy, love and faith despite our circumstances. The new life we have in Christ is stronger than the life the world has to offer. The changed life we have can push away the tricks of the enemy. We are heirs of the Lord and part of our inheritance is the name of Jesus. Let’s use His name so we can live the fullness of this new life. In His name we are more than conquerors and that is an indelible truth. Embrace this great life with Christ every day. Remind yourself of the wonders of the Lord and how they never end. The day your life changed was only the beginning. Keep living it up in Jesus’ name!
