10 nuggets of wisdom for your Saturday (Part 189)

Let God speak to your heart privately. Set aside time to listen to Him. Give Him time and savor your moments with Him.

“Trust Me, I know what I’m doing” is what the Lord is telling you today. Listen to His voice. Give Him a chance to show you what He can do. Give yourself a chance to get out of your misery as you lean on God in the middle of your troubles.

God’s love in your life is accounted for. There is an unlimited provision of His love for you. It is a done deal. You don’t have to do anything to earn it. Embrace God’s love. Let it bless you and protect you.

Faith is like a net you cast in an ocean of blessings. You don’t always know what you are going to get but you know you will get something and it will be very good in Jesus’ name!

At the end of the day God is still on the throne. No matter what you go through, God will see you through. He is still almighty and He is still powerful. Don’t lose hope. Victory is yet to come!

Praise is your remedy. It will heal your body, soul and spirit. Praise Jesus today and every day and you will have the key to freedom and breakthrough all the time.

Save your praises for Jesus. Compliment and encourage the world but praise the Lord and only the Lord. Put Him on a pedestal. Exalt Him. Let Him be bigger than anyone else. All praise belongs to Him!

Jesus the author of your faith holds your future. This means that you are not looking ahead with fear and doubt. You know that your future is in good hands and you have nothing to worry about. The Lord will be there every step of the way and He will always make a way!

God doesn’t think like the world. He knows and understands how the world thinks but His ways are higher than our ways. Pray that the Lord opens the eyes of your understanding and shows you His ways. Pray that you think more like Jesus and less like yourself!

Don’t listen to the lies of the enemy! You can make it and you will make it beautifully in Jesus’ name. The Lord is with you. He will make things happen for you. He will encourage you and help you. Don’t get discouraged. God is on your side!

God brought you this far

God brought you this far. He is not going to let you down. He is not going to drop you. He is not going to leave you stranded. He will finish the good work He started in you. He will finish the good work in your life. Don’t give up! God is still working with you. God is still working on your situation. Keep the faith! There are some great things coming your way because God is making a way where you thought there was no way. It sounds cliche but it also sounds like Jesus. That is what He will always say. He will always say that He is way, the truth and the life. When you have Him, you always find your way out of trouble. You always have hope of better days. Those better days are not too far. Hold on a little longer. Show your faith longer. I understand that obstacles and hurdles seem to be all over the place and you can’t see good things in your future. Just because you can’t see them doesn’t mean that they are not ahead of you. Jesus has gone before you and He has laid out everything you need and He will provide for you. Don’t look at what you don’t have. In Him you have all you need. There are blessings today that might be invisible to you but with faith they can be revealed. God is by your side and He is going to take you places you had never thought existed. He brought you this far and He will guide you to a destination that is so peaceful and so good that it will blow your mind and surpass your understanding. God is not done blessing you. He is not done carrying you!

When I look back and see how far I have come I can’t help but thank the Lord. He is the One who has made so many things possible in my life. I have a better awareness of His work in my life and of His plan. Good things in my life have not been coincidences or luck. It’s been Jesus all along and He is here to stay. I know that when things get complicated and difficult, we are under the impression that God is done. We feel like He has left and He has moved on to other people. That is not how God is. In His Word He promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us. He also said that He was the same yesterday, today and forever. Your future is still in His hands. Your present is blessed by His presence. God doesn’t give up. God doesn’t turn around when He sees difficulties on the way. He destroys what tries to destroy us. God has the ability to do the incredible and to do the less expected. Faith connects us to Him and it gives us the hope and confidence that God is sovereign all the time. Express your faith today. Tell yourself that God is still God and that He has brought you this far and He will get you to the finish line. There is nothing to fear and nothing to be worried about. Worry won’t move you forward. It will always stall you and hurt you.

I have no idea what you are going through today. I am telling you to keep the faith and you might think that it is a tall order. You feel like you have given your best to this thing called faith and you have run out of it. Look to Jesus. He is the author of your faith. Faith is in His power, His truth, His love, His abilities, His sovereignty, and His omnipotence. You are not trying to have faith in your ability to make things happen. Your faith is exalting the One who died for the world and who came back to life. Revive your vision of Jesus. Go back to His Word. Read about Him. Read Him. Revisit Him. Relearn Him. He is the deliverer, the ruler of the universe and the King of kings. He wants you to stay in fellowship with Him and trust that your journey is not over. He is with you on the journey and He created this journey for you. Think about that! He made this plan just for you and He will see it through. You have made it this far thanks to Jesus and He is going to help you finish this amazing adventure. Keep your hopes up. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Count on God

I wrote a nugget of wisdom the other day about how great God is and how He can handle anything. Our biggest problems are not a burden to God. He is not afraid of anything that comes our way. He is never shocked and He is never intimidated by anything. It baffles my mind to think that the worst news I have ever received was not something that puzzled God. Bad news always takes me by surprise and it is hard to shake. God knew it was coming and He has never lost His cool. He has never said that He couldn’t face my circumstances and He had to take a leave of absence. The way God is in the Bible is always the same. He never changes. He is as almighty as He ever was. He is as powerful as He ever was. God will always be God no matter what is going on in our lives. What does that mean for our lives? It means that when things are bad, God can still make things right. It means that God can change the worst situations and those situations can never change Him. They might twist God’s reality in our heads and make us think that God is not in control anymore. That is a lie. The enemy wants us to believe that God is nowhere to be found when the going gets tough. Today I want to encourage you to count on God even in the middle of your worst nightmare. Count on God on the good days and on the bad days. He will never let you down.

Counting on God implies faith and it implies that we are not going to bend and we are not going to break under pressure. We are human so things can get to us but when we put faith between us and what is happening to us, we come out victorious. When we put Jesus between our trials and ourselves, we come out victorious. When we let the Bible be the authority in our lives even when problems are piling up, we come out victorious. When we stand our ground on the promises of the Lord even when the storms are raging, we come out victorious. We can count on God all the time. My suggestion is that you get used to counting on God for the small things. Count on Him in your everyday life. Count on Him to bless you and protect you. He said He would follow you and cover you. Count on Him for that. He said that He would listen and answer when you knock. Count on Him for that. He said that no weapon formed against you shall prosper so count on Him for that. He gave His life for you so you could have eternal life so count on Him and know that you have eternal life in Him. Count on Him all the time. Call on Him. Let His name never depart your lips even when you are under attack. He will always fight your enemies for you.

When you find yourself at the bottom of a pit and you can’t see your way out, you can still count on God. It is amazing how dependable the Lord is. He will move Heaven and earth to get you out of that pit. All He needs is your faith and you reliance on Him. He will create a miracle to get you out of the pit. He will invent what doesn’t exist just so you can get out of the pit. He will soften the blows of the enemy and make you life better. He will show you that there is so much more in this life for you than the enemy talks about. You are going to go from glory to glory thanks to Jesus. You can count on His incredible love. His love will carry you and set you free. You can count on His powerful peace. His peace will allow you to walk though the darkest valleys and not be afraid. You can count on His invigorating joy. His joy will be your strength and it will give you the ability to remain strong. Keep your hope in the Lord. Count on Him no matter what. He will get you through anything. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Expect God every day

I love the start of a new week. I love new beginnings. I love new days, new weeks, new months and new years. However, I don’t wait for a new start to challenge myself or to trust that God can do something different in my life. Yes, He is the God of new beginnings and His mercies are new every day. I am so thankful for that and I praise the Lord for His new mercies. I do believe that God can act at any point in my life and I don’t have to wait for a new day or a new year to have great expectations. I expect God all the time. I expect Him to act on my behalf any time. I expect His blessings to follow me wherever I go and whenever. I don’t have to wait around for something new to happen. God is here now. His love is here now. His power is here now. His blessings are here now. You and I have the creator of the universe on our sides and He loves to bless us. I know that if we have faith in His blessings, they will flood our lives. God loves us more than we know and He wants rivers of blessings to be present in our lives. We need to learn how to flow with that truth so that we embark on the boat of joy and peace that floats on His rivers of blessings. Today could be a new beginning for you. Today could be the day you begin to trust that God wants you to be blessed all the time. I encourage you to expect God any time of the day and any day of the week.

I remember loving Sundays as a teenager because I could go to church. I used to go far to attend a church where I found what I needed at the time spiritually. I basically lived for Sundays. I knew I would encounter God on that day and I loved how my Sundays gave me the strength to face the new week. I had the wrong approach. I put God in the “Sunday box.” He was limited in my mind because He could only show up in my life on Sunday. I had a vision of a limited God that I could truly only interact with on Sunday. My Sundays with God helped me deal with Monday. At least with part of Monday because by the end of Monday I was usually back to my old defeated self. Did I pray during the week? I did but my prayers were rot and they sounded rehearsed. I didn’t know how to connect with God outside of Sundays. I didn’t except God during the week other than some ripple effects from my Sunday worship and prayer time. We should expect God all the time, friend. Sundays are great days to praise the Lord but so are all the other days of the week. We can expect God’s peace every day. We can expect God’s joy every day. We can expect God’s blessings all the time. We should expect God at all times.

I saw a big shift in my spiritual life when I decided to praise the Lord on a daily basis. I remember actually starting doing that on a Monday. I held my own private praise and prayer sessions in the morning and at night. I brought church home so to speak and within a few days, I had encounters with the presence of the Lord. He visited me every day and I was open to His love and His direction. The Holy Spirit opened the eyes of my spirit and I was all about Jesus. I expected the Lord to inhabit my praises all the time. I read my Bible every day. I prayed a lot more and I established a beautiful relationship with the Lord. I expected Him to be the God of the Bible 24/7 and that is what happened. I had dreams, visions, bouts of joy and peace and I was addicted to Jesus. I expected Him to bless me every day and to help me deal with every single day. I knew that problems would still arise but I expected God to give me the victory. Today I still expect God every day. I still pray and worship all the time and it makes my life so much better. God is not just here on Sunday. Expect Him every day, dear friend. It will change your life for the better. Expect God’s blessings all the time. Ride the waves of His peace every single day. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Life with the Holy Spirit

God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Every time I read that verse or every time it comes to mind, I can’t help but be grateful for what God did for us. It blows my mind that the Father gave His Son as a sacrifice so that we shouldn’t perish. Jesus died for our sins, for our inities and for our transgressions. Now, if we believe in Him and trust Him to be our Savior, not only are our sins forgiven but we are also given eternal life. Our spiritual life is locked in Heaven. We have the promise of a life with Christ. That life doesn’t start later. It starts the moment we accept Jesus as our Savior. That life is not better for some believers because they are special. We are all special in God’s eyes and we all have access to the eternal life the Lord bought for us.

What does that life look like? It is depicted in the Bible and it is best lived with the Holy Spirit. Every believer receives the Holy Spirit once he or she has Jesus as their Savior. Does that mean that eternal life is easy and we live on cloud 9 all the time? Absolutely not! One thing that is extremely important is that we acknowledge the Holy Spirit and we live our lives with Him. Many believers are not aware of the Holy Spirit. They know of Jesus but they don’t know His Spirit. The truth is we can’t know Jesus without the Holy Spirit. His Spirit is the One who connects us to Jesus. Today I want to encourage you to enjoy life with the Holy Spirit. Let Him be more real in your life. Give Him the room He deserves. Rejoice over the amazing gift of the Lord Jesus.

Jesus said He would send us His Spirit and His Spirit would dwell in us. How many of us are aware of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit? How many of us can say that we know the Spirit of Jesus? When I pray, I talk to the Holy Spirit. I often thank Jesus for His Spirit and then I thank the Holy Spirit for being my counselor, my comforter and my helper. The Lord is the Spirit. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one. The Holy Spirit represents them in our lives. He is God standing by us and staying in us. The power of the Holy Spirit lives in us but if we ignore Him or if we don’t take Him into consideration, His power will not do us any good. What does His power do? It points out to Jesus.

The power of the Holy Spirit celebrates Jesus as Lord and Savior. We have the power to know Jesus. We have to power to link up with Jesus. Jesus asked the Father to send us the ultimate advocate to help us and to be with us forever. Thank Jesus for His Spirit. Declare every day that the power of the Holy Spirit is in you and that you will tap into His power to praise and worship Jesus. You have the power to magnify Jesus so do it as often as you can. Your flesh might be pulling you away from the Lord but you have what it takes to overcome the flesh and to praise the Lord at all times. Make it a habit to use the power of the Spirit in you to extol Jesus.

I mentioned that the Holy Spirit was a counselor, a comforter, an advocate and He is also a friend. He is alive. He is a person and He is the best person we can know. Why? Because like I said He always steers us in Jesus’ direction and He is God. Who wouldn’t want to have God within them all the time? We are God’s temple. That is such an honor and privilege. Living with the Holy Spirit should be the focus of our lives. Our everyday life should be marked by communicating with the Lord thanks to the Holy Spirit. We pray and talk to God through the power of the Holy Spirit. That is what His power does. Every time we are inclined to pray, it is the power of the Holy Spirit in us that is in action.

We don’t need lightening and thunder to take place for us to be motivated by the Spirit of God. He is gentle and kind and He won’t force us to lift up Jesus but He knocks on the door of our hearts and wants to come in. Let’s be sure to answer the door and give the Spirit of God the best seat in the house. The Spirit of God also pours God’s love in our hearts. It is a powerful outpouring that can be manifested if we yield to the Spirit. Friend, we have an amazing life thanks to Jesus. God gave His Son so we would have eternal life with His Spirit. Let’s involve the Spirit of God in all we do and let’s give Him first place. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

When you are in the valley

God does things right. When I look back at what has happened in my life, I can’t help but think that God has orchestrated everything beautifully. There have been ups and downs and some of the downs were way down in the valley of death but God has also taken me to the mountain tops. Some of those tops have been so high that I couldn’t have seen them before I went up there. They were far beyond anything I could have imagined. There have been times when the impossible was made possible in a breath-taking manner.

“God can do great things” is an understatement. I thank Him for the victories and I praise Him for being in the valley with me. If you are in the valley today, a mountain top is on the way. It might take a while but it’s coming. While you are in the valley, look at the Lord. Don’t close your eyes and hope things get better. Keep your eyes wide open and focus on the Lord. When you do, the valley is more than bearable and joy can come meet you right there in the valley!

Finding joy and peace in the valley is not something I was told could happen. I was more of the belief that the valley was a painful place where sorrow and despair reigned. Yes, there is pain the valley. There is no doubt about it but Jesus is also in the valley. He has been to the deepest valleys that exist and He came back victorious. He is smiling at your in your valley and He has a plan to get you through your ordeal. The cross destroyed the valley. The empty tomb defeated the valley.

Give your faith a chance to destroy and defeat the valley as you put all your trust in the Lord’s ability to help you in the valley. It can be a lonely place but the Lord will provide what you need and give you strength in the midst of your suffering. Say a prayer. Ask Him to assist you. He listens and He acts. Expect peace in the valley. Expect the opposite of what your feelings and emotions are telling you. You can find joy in the valley in the name of Jesus. Wait and see what He does for you in your solitude.

I remember a time in the valley of death when everything felt like I was walking through a desert. That horrible valley was empty. There was no hope in sight and there was no relief coming any time soon. That was at least what the devil was whispering to me. You see, the enemy wants you to believe that Jesus is not with you when you are going through problems. He wants you to think you are all alone. It is a lie. God is by your side all the time. Say it to yourself. Declare it even when it hurts. Speak to the loneliness.

Make a declaration of faith and tell the enemy that your Lord is accompanying you in the valley. Talk to the Lord in the valley. Pray more. Praise more. Read the Bible more. Joy will come. As you get closer to the Lord, His joy will be your strength. You don’t have to be down in the valley. You can walk and you can run with faith. The Lord can bless you tremendously in the middle of your worst times. Don’t lose hope. God is going to pour showers of joy in that valley and you are going to smile again, laugh again and triumph again. Help is coming. Joy is rising. Fix your eyes on Jesus and not on the valley. Stay encouraged! May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

A heart of gratitude

The other morning as I started my day with prayer, the Lord reminded me that gratitude is key. He said to my heart that He loves a grateful heart. Am I grateful all the time? I could do better. I could spend more time thanking the Lord for big things and for small things. Every time I read the Psalms I reminded of how grateful David was. He surely had a grateful heart and He shows a great example to all of us. I strongly encourage you to read the Psalms and to learn more about the heart of David. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. It is clear that David’s heart was filled with gratitude. He loved the Lord so much that He couldn’t stop thanking Him. David also expressed distress and pleaded the Lord to save him from torment. He didn’t awakes live on a bed of roses but his heart for the Lord was big and the gratitude that flew from it mattered a lot.

David talks about how his mind troubled him at times which highlights his human side but despite his difficulties, he praised the Lord and he thanked Him. We can do the same thing. We can praise the Lord and thank Him despite our troubles. It is normal for us to complain and to even feel forsaken by the Lord. When we read David’s Psalms we understand we are in good company. However, just like David, we can nurture a heart of praise and a grateful heart. Gratitude is key like the Lord said when I was praying. It is a key that opens many doors. Today I invite you to use the key of gratitude and to express it as much as possible.

David also declares that when He calls on the Lord, He rescues him. This is true for you and me. When we call on the Lord, He comes to our rescue. That is a great reason to be grateful to Him. No matter what we go through, God can rescue us. He deserves our praise and our celebration because He is good at all times even when the world is bad. God will always come to help us. He will make sure that we get through anything and everything when we rely on Him. I thank the Lord for His goodness and for His faithfulness every day. That is how I start my prayers most of the time. I know that His goodness and His faithfulness will never change so every day I can mention them and be thankful for them. Find things about the Lord that you can talk about and be grateful for.

Study God in His Word and show gratitude for what you know about Him. His eternal love is another thing that I am grateful for every single day. I am here because of His love. We are saved because of His love. We are blessed because of His love. We are protected because of His love. We have eternal life because of His love. We will always make it because of His love. We love because He first loved us. God’s love is the main reason you and I should be thankful every day. Our hearts of gratitude should echo His love and spread it. His love is the start of all good things. It is His love that guides us into all good things and that helps us love others. Thank God every day for His amazing love!

If I didn’t have the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, living out my Christian life would be very difficult. I am very thankful for the Holy Spirit. I acknowledge Him in what I do. I can do a better job with that but I am on my way. I am learning how to include Him more in my life. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit. He is a wonderful gift we should celebrate and we should be thankful for. Friend, thank Jesus for the Holy Spirit all the time. Let your heart of gratitude speak about the Holy Spirit and keep Him inside. When I ignore the Holy Spirit, I see that something is missing and something seems off. He is the gift that should always be present in my mind. The less I focus on the Lord and on His gift, the more my mind can wander down dire roads.

We have the Spirit of Jesus in us. It is such a tremendous blessing. The Holy Spirit is gentle and loving and He is the perfect counselor. Name all the things He does in your life. Go down the list of what makes Him who He is. Be thankful for all His traits and for His influence on your life. There are many reasons for you and me to be thankful every day and the Word of God lists all these reasons. Let’s have a grateful heart as much as we can. Gratitude is the key that opens the doors to blessings and to peace and joy. A life of gratitude is a life of victory in the Lord. Thank God for God! May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

The God of the next level

Getting closer to God and developing an intimate relationship with Him allows us to see Him in a different light. It is a light that glows and shines really bright. It is the light that takes us to the truth and that opens the eyes of our spirit. What does the truth about God reveal to us? We can learn a number of things and one of them is that God is the God of the next level. He is higher and mightier than we used to see Him. He is above and beyond all. He is next level and He is overwhelming good. God’s goodness transpires more the more we know Him. His power is perceived better and His sovereignty becomes more of a reality.

God would never let us get closer to Him without opening us up to His supernatural nature and to what makes Him God. That next level of awareness touches our hearts and gives us more faith in God’s ability to do the impossible. I was studying my Bible the other day reading some of Jesus’ miracles. Most of them are unheard of these days. I believe it’s because we don’t have the faith that it takes to see such exploits come to pass. I know that some people have that kind of faith and they often experience miracles. They have this tight relationship with God where they always expect Him to show up supernaturally. After all, God is next level all the time. It’s up to us to reach the level of faith where the supernatural is natural.

One important point that came out of the Bible study I did was that Jesus Himself announced “the God of the next level.” He said that those who believe in Him would perform greater miracles. Now, He didn’t say that they would have the power to perform miracles in themselves. They would perform those miracles through Him and thanks to Him. He died on the cross and defeated death so that the next level would be reached. It is that covenant with Him that ensures that we have access to that next level. Today I want to encourage you to expect the God of the next level to show up in your life. Expect more. Believe there is more. Let the God of the impossible open your eyes to His true nature. He can do it. He can do all things. Get on His train and enjoy the ride!

What is the God of the next level like? It’s for you and me to discover as we press on and stay in faith. Let’s pursue the truth and it will set us free. It will set us free from a limited mindset that doesn’t acknowledge the God of miracles. We have the creator of the universe in us and with us. Our faith reaches His hand and enables the extraordinary to invade our ordinary reality. Let’s the next level become our reality as we praise and worship the God who is not limited. My prayer for you today is that you grow in your faith and you become intimate with the God of the next level. There are no limitations to what He can do. Welcome Him into your heart. Praise Him. Thank Him. He is out of this world and He can make your world a better place. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

God always has a better plan

Where will God take you next? Who knows? God knows. Keep trusting Him even if you don’t understand which way you are going. Keep trusting Him even if you think His plan is not the right plan. Have you ever thought that your plan might work better than God’s plan? You might not realize it but every time you take matters in your own hands and you act without God’s consent or approval, you show that you believe your plan is better than His. Sometimes we think of God’s plan as plan B when His plan should always be plan A. It sounds simple but it is easier to go with our plans when things are all over the place. We need to change that attitude and let God be God all the time.

The other day, I was supposed to go to a Greek restaurant with my family. When we got to the restaurant, we found out that it was closed. My nephew was very disappointed because that restaurant was his favorite place to eat. I could see that he was bummed. We suggested we look up restaurants in the area and try to find something else. He agreed but I know he was not excited about finding another option. His plan was the best in his mind. We found an African fusion restaurant. He was open to trying it. That new restaurant was delicious and my nephew loved it so much that he even ordered take-out. My sister said that it was God’s plan for us to find that new place. God had a better plan. At first it didn’t sound too appealing but once we gave it a chance, it turned out to be way better than we thought.

The restaurant illustration is just a tiny example of what God can do in our lives. He knows best and He can take us to new places where we will be greatly blessed. What we have to do is be receptive to His plan and be ready to follow Him even when we don’t know where we are going. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. He is the way, friend. He leads us into all truths and He leads us to the best places. If you are in a place today where you always count on what you know and you are not willing to explore God’s options, I am here to encourage you to let God lead the way. What you have been doing for years might still work but it might also need to be changed.

We get into routines that are comfortable when God wants us to sometimes step out of our comfort zone and adhere to His plan. It can be scary. It can be intimidating because we don’t know exactly where we are going but His plan is always a great plan. God can take you to a mountain top that you didn’t know existed because you have be so used to going to the top of a hill. His mountain is higher than your hill. His plan is bigger than your plan. Go up the mountain with God. Take one step after another holding His hand. The mountain He wants you to climb is not insurmontable. He understands that getting to the top is the best thing for you so widen your vision. Broaden your horizon of faith and go with God’s plan.

It takes faith to trust in God’s plan and our faith in His great plans can always grow. Think about the steps you have to take when you walk in faith. If you keep going, you will start taking bigger strides because you will be trusting more. Go one step at a time but keep going. The plan might be bigger than you imagine so your steps will need to be bigger as well. Don’t rush it but don’t stop walking. When God sent His Son to earth, He had a plan. The enemy try to meddle with the plan but nothing he did succeeded. At one point it looked like all was lost but God had the final say.

Now, you could be in a situation where you don’t believe God’s plan for your life is going to come to pass. You might have had hurdles and difficulties that have disheartened you but God will have the final say. When all seems lost, God is still working. His plan won’t fail. His plan will prevail. You will get to a new place. You are not going to stay where you are now. God’s plan for your life is amazing. Keep believing. Keep trusting. Keep walking. Stay strong. God’s plan will blow your mind. You are not walking in faith in vain. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

To God be all the glory

My life has been a testimony to God’s glory. When I look back I can clearly see the times when the Lord has intervened in my life. The encounters with the Lord have been many. There are the daily encounters during prayer and at various times during the day. There are the encounters that take my breath away and that make me feel like I hate stepped into another dimension. I remember in October 2019 on a Saturday morning, I was transported into the arena of God’s glory. I started praising the Lord like I usually do in the morning but I sensed something different. Before I knew it I was face down on the floor crying and rejoicing at the same time. The presence of the Holy Spirit was so strong that all I could do was cry and stay on the ground. I was in reverence before the Lord and I was convinced that being on my knees was not enough.

During that praise time, I had to be as close to the floor as possible because His majestic presence was so prevalent in my bedroom. I remember saying “If only people knew” many times. If only people knew how awesome and glorious the Lord is was what I am hinting at. The truth is that God is awesome and glorious all the time. We might not see it. We might not feel it but it is always true. I don’t think that we can experience a high level of God’s glory every day but we can see how His glory is impacting our lives even in the small things. God is always glorious so He deserves our praise all the time. I want to challenge you to praise the Lord more this week. I am inviting you to set up some time to worship Him more than before and to give Him the glory.

“To God be all the glory” is what we read in a lot of passages in the Bible and what we find in a number of Christian songs. Are our lives singing that same refrain? Are our actions giving God the glory? I wonder about that often when it comes to how much glory I give the Lord. I know that life gets busy and praising and worshipping the Lord can be put on the back burner but I also know that it is the wrong way to approach life. Praise and worship should be inserted into our lives. They should be planned or spontaneous but letting days go by without praise is not honoring God. We think that a little prayer here and there will be enough. It is not enough. It can be a harsh reality but it is God’s reality.

We can’t skip prayer and we can’t skip praise. It’s not like praise and prayer will line up nicely in our lives when we prioritize other things. We should be active worshippers of the Lord. If you want your actions and your deeds to praise the Lord, I suggest you start with singing. Have a devoted time to praise the Lord with singing. Singing is just one way we can give God the glory but it is a great start. Give God the glory with praise sessions. Sing out loud or sing in your heart but given the amount of praise in the Bible, you and I should be more actively praising the Lord.

When we praise the Lord, we tell Him basically that He is more important than anyone else or anything else that is going on in our lives. We take the time to focus on Him and to lift Him up. We acknowledge that He is glorious and we exalt Him. David knew how to praise the Lord in an amazing way. He is a great motivator to all of us. I read Psalms on a regular basis and they inspire me to praise more. One of God’s messages to us is “Do not worry. Praise Me instead.” I love that message and I apply it as often as I can. Praise is the opposite of worry. When you praise the Lord, you indicate that God is in control. You recognize His power in your life and you get a strong sense of security.

Praise is what we need all the time. It gives our faith a boost and it truly declares, “To God be all the glory.” He deserves our praise. Let’s praise Him more. Let’s praise Him more than we worry. Let’s do whatever we do to the glory of God. Let’s praise Him through our lives. There are so many ways we can give God the glory. Find the ways that work best for you and turn them into habits. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
