You deserve God’s best

God is no respecter of people. Think about what that implies. Think about what it means for you and for every single person you know. It means that you and everyone you know will always be considered the same way by God. He doesn’t love your neighbor more than He loves you. He doesn’t love you more than non believers. I think that is where we miss it. We think that because we are saved, God loves us more than people who don’t have a relationship with Him. If we kept in mind that we are all the same in God’s eyes, we can avoid conflicts, discrimination and judgment. Now, since God is no respecter of people, you can rest assured that the blessings and the love He had for people in the Bible are also available to you. God will open the  Red Sea for you. God will open your blind spiritual eyes for you. Gold will turn your water into wine. God will heal you.

God will set you free. God will give you hope and a future. God will fill you with His Spirit. God will perform miracles for you and through you. You are one of His disciples. You are one of His people. It’s up to you to see yourself the way He sees you. It’s up to you to walk in faith and to trust that you are loved and adored as much as anyone else the Lord loves. Peter in the Bible is not more special to God than you are. You are as loved by God as Paul was. You are as favored by God as David was. Jesus made it all possible so now you have to make it acceptable. Accept it for yourself and embrace that truth. You are loved by God and you are highly favored and blessed. Live your life knowing that you are as blessed as anyone Jesus touched when He was on earth.

“Mercy triumphs over judgement”* God is full of mercy and His mercy is for you. He is merciful all the time. This allows you to trust that when you sin and when you go astray, God will always take you back so to speak and His mercy will cover you. You and I are not perfect and we will never be perfect but we are made perfect by the Lord. His blood was shed for our sins and He took care of all our iniquities and trespasses. I am telling you today that you deserve God’s best because of His mercy so you need to get over the fear of not being good enough. You need to take those negative thoughts and throw them away because they won’t help you and they won’t lead you into the truth.

You are loved by God all the time and even if you do something wrong, you can be forgiven. Even when you do something wrong, God still loves you. It doesn’t mean that you should keep sinning. It just shows that you can repent, receive forgiveness and move on. You can move on to a place where you know that God’s blessings for you are perfectly lined up for you. They are in His pipeline and when the timing is right, they will bless your life in a powerful way. You deserve what God wants for you and what He wants is a life of abundance and a life where you are loved and highly favored.

When I read the great deeds and the great miracles of the Lord in the Bible, I can’t help but be in awe. I used to look at His miracles as things of the past. Now I understand that the blessings of the Lord are part of our lives and with faith we can access them. I am also aware of God’s unchanging love for all of us. I put myself on the same level as any people in the Bible. I am part of the Lord’s family and His love for me is the same love He had for David or Moses for instance. When you approach God that way, you are comforted and you realize that you deserve what God has. There is no one greater than you other than Jesus. Everyone else is in the same category. The category of the people God loves. It is a huge category that includes every single person who has walked the earth and you are in that group. You will stay in that group and you were always meant to be in that group.

Now, the difference between you and a non-believer is that you have eternal life and you are blessed with a wonderful relationship with Jesus. Think about all the believers in the Bible and think of what God did for them. He can do the same for you. Most of the time your faith needs to activate the hand of God and other times His mercy and grace are sufficient. They are always sufficient but faith is something you should always work on and develop. Today I want you to celebrate the Lord because He is no respecter of persons and He will do for you the amazing things He did in the Bible and more. Stay in faith. Stay encouraged. You deserve God’s best! May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you.

God’s circle of friends

Jesus is more than a legend. He is the ultimate deliverer and Savior and yet He is very accessible. You and I can access Him every day of the week. He is not just a Sunday morning encounter. He is an every day relationship. The Savior of the universe is with us all the time. His Spirit makes Him known to us and shows us that Jesus is King all the time and we are part of His circle. We are part of His family but I love the idea of a circle. A good circle of friends is a group of people of the same mind and who have a lot in common. See yourself as being an active member of the circle of friends of the Lord. Abraham was called a friend of God. I find that amazing and beautiful. David knew God so well that He could call Him a friend. We have the same type of relationship with God. It is actually amplified  because Jesus came and bridged the gap between the Father and us.

Dear friend, God, your friend is always rejoicing over you and He wants you to be a vibrant and active participant in His circle. How can you do that? First you have to see Him as the Father He is and as the Savior He is. Get to know Him better through His Word and know in your heart of hearts that you belong in His circle. God wants you there and you are more than welcome in His circle. He created the circle for you and me. He sent His Spirit so that the circle would be complete. The Holy Spirit holds hands with us and with the Lord so we have this strong and precious connection. You are not a foreigner to the Lord. You are a close friend, a child, a beloved member of His circle. Today I want you to explore the circle of friends of the Lord and learn how you can be actively involved.

There is often a leader in a circle of friends. In the circle I am talking about, Jesus is the head. He is the leader and the One we should always look up to. He is the King of kings whose humble demeanor makes Him reachable. He is God but He is humble enough to come to our level. I have visited churches where they had special seats in the front for V.I.P guests. I often thought that if Jesus were to visit those churches, He would sit in the back with the people that no one looks at and that people don’t take the time to get to know. He is with the broken hearted and with the lonely ones. In His circle, everyone is welcome and everyone is the same in His eyes.

In God’s circle, there is no hierarchy and no social ladder to be climbed. His circle is fair and it is caring. Jesus will never ever reject anyone. You might need to hear that for yourself. Remember that you are always welcome by Jesus and He will never reject you. You might have missed it many times and you feel like you don’t deserve to be close to God. Don’t let the enemy talk you into isolating yourself from God. He wants nothing else but to divide and separate. Be part of the circle. Know that you are entitled to being in that circle and give the Holy Spirit a chance to show you how much Jesus loves and how much He wants you there.

The circle of the Lord is the best circle of friends that there is. There are not only people, anyone is invited like I said, but there are also great spiritual friends. In His circle, you will find love, peace, joy, patience, long-suffering, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. They are all in the circle with you and the Lord encourages you to be friends with them and to have them become a part of who you are. Those spiritual friends are meant to become one with you. The circle makes you more like Jesus if you are active in it. An active member of that circle is someone who makes it a priority to know Jesus and to embrace all parts of the circle. Love, peace, joy and all the parts of the circle are traits the person pursues and focuses on.

You are in a great circle, friend. Make the most of it. Let the Lord lead you and demonstrate what you should be doing every day. Take His Word and combine it with the presence of the Holy Spirit and you will have a strong connection with the Savior of the world. Rejoice in that circle. Jesus is always smiling at you and He is always enjoying your company. Think about that. God loves you so much that He enjoys you all the time even when you hate yourself. Stay in the circle of the Lord and you will gain a wonderful perspective and you will share His mind. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

What patience can do for you

I was on a train that was going very slowly the other day. I felt that if I got off the train and started walking, I would get to my destination faster. The train was painfully slow but all I could do was sit there and be patient. I could have lost my cool and entertained a lot of negative thoughts but the Lord pointed out a few very interesting things. He showed me that since the train was going so slowly I could admire the scenery. I could see the beauty around me that I had missed every time the train had gone fast in the past. I could enjoy the trees and the beautiful flowers. I could see things I had never noticed before. That is what the Lord pointed out. He didn’t encourage me to lose my temper. He didn’t want me to focus on the time and to think that I was going to be late. He directed me to stay in the moment and to rejoice over my surroundings.

That slow train ride was a nice step back. A step back from the busyness of my mind. A step back that was truly a step forward. Why? God is patient and He is not in a hurry. Slowing down allowed me to get closer to God and to be more like Him. That a step forward in my book. That is a step forward in His Book. The Bible teaches us about patience but we are often in a hurry to get to the end of a chapter of our lives when we should let every page unfold. We want to know how it will all end when the Lord wants us to go through a natural process of identifying every section of our story and making the most of it all. What leads to the end is just as important as the end and sometimes more important. Every chapter of our lives matter and they should be lived out to the fullest and appreciated. Patience is more than a virtue. It’s the key to great treasures that can only be discovered if we take the time.

When I was on the slow train, I enjoyed that slower pace. I didn’t at first but once I got on God’s page, I understood the value of slowing down. Like I said, it draws us closer to God and it enables us to develop a wonderful fruit of the Spirit. Without patience we can miss out on so much. Without patience we can forfeit our faith. Faith works with patience. There is no way around it. You can’t walk in faith if patience is not by your side. You can’t walk in love if patience is not your friend. You can’t have hope if patience is not part of the equation. Patience is a key that opens many doors. It is a master key that fits in many locks. When we rush around and try to open a door, we can’t get the key to turn properly because we are distracted by our own impatience.

Patience gives us the ability to make things fit the right way and to find the proper way to do things. I can think of many times when I did a bad job at school because I wasn’t patient. Now if I am impatient with the things of the Lord, I will not gain wisdom and I will misinterpret what He is trying to tell me. Patience and meditation go hand in hand. I meditate on God’s Word every day and I need to be patient when I meditate. I need to be patient with myself and patient with the messages I am getting. God doesn’t always reveal everything right away. Sometimes when I pray I don’t hear Him if I am too scattered in my thoughts and I am rushing around. I get the best of out of prayers when patience is involved and I wait on the Lord.

“Wait on the Lord” is an encouragement I often get. How can I wait on the Lord if I am not patient and I am not slowing down? I have noticed that when I pray for something or I expect the Lord to intervene in my life and I wait patiently, it is more likely to happen. I have found that life is what happens when you don’t look at it. In other words, great things in life take place when we don’t keep starting at them and wait for them to manifest. Patience tells us to focus on the Lord and not focus on the creation. Patience tells us to focus on the good and not pay attention to the bad.

Patience works with faith and it is always positive. Patience has a positive outlook on life. Patience is strong. Patience gives us the strength to hold on. If you are struggling with patience today, I invite you to invite it into your life. Pray for more patience. Get used to getting on the slow train and enjoy what is around you. Walk slower. Walk with God. Don’t run to the end of the chapter. Engage with the beginning, the middle and the end. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your spiritual eyes during the whole process. Slow down and enjoy the moment. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

Great is His faithfulness

Another week and another chance to see how faithful our Lord is. I love that God is always faithful. It is something that I celebrate every day but at times there is some resistance in my head. Sometimes I go down the wrong path of thinking and my mind tries to tell me that God is going to fail me and He won’t be faithful. I have been in situations where I couldn’t see God’s faithfulness. The problem was that I was trying to see it with my eyes and I was looking for it around me. God is faithful no matter what. He stands on His throne in His glory and nothing can change that His faithfulness sits on His throne with Him. He promised to bless us and to never leave us. His love is faithful and it stays with us. If Jesus is your Savior, His faithfulness will accompany you all the days of your life. Because it is such a powerful truth, you can expect the enemy to do his best to demonstrate that God’s faithfulness is overrated. The devil is the king of lies and deceit. He will never hold the truth. Remember that. Even when things look bad and hopeless, God’s faithfulness is intact. The enemy will play up the bad things that are happening to you so you can believe that God can’t get you out of your problems.

God’s faithfulness is a guarantee and when we stay in faith and we keep standing despite the adversity, we will see the glory of God shine and His faithfulness will be evident. God said that He will protect us and that is always true. His protection is all around you, friend. Keep that in mind and keep saying that to yourself. You might be in some type of danger now but God’s protection is greater and stronger than anything you are facing. His protection will get you through anything. Not just a few circumstances but all of them. Praise Him for His faithful protection. Declare His protection over your life. Declare that God cares and that He watches over you faithfully. God promised He would send a Savior. He said He would send Someone who would cover all our sins and save us from eternal death. He kept His promise. He sent His Son. His Son came to earth and fulfilled the promise even though there were many attempts to end His life prematurely. When He was on the cross, it looked like death had won but God had not changed His promise. He had not altered what He was going to accomplish and Jesus conquered death. The promise stood strong and it is still alive today. God’s promises are all still alive and your trials and tribulations can’t control them. Tell the Lord you are ready to see His promises fulfilled in your life today.

One of God’s biggest promises is that He loves us. He is faithful with that promise and He keeps on loving us even when we keep on messing up. His faithful love is packaged in His mercy and grace. Think about how merciful the Lord has been and how His grace has carried you. I can quote many instances when God’s grace has saved my life. My whole life is a testimony to God’s grace and faithfulness. I am thankful for His faithfulness. I am inviting you today to expect God to be faithful and to add that truth to your daily declarations of faith. Remind yourself and your circumstances that God is always faithful. Start the week with that promise on your lips and in your mind. Let your heart be filled with the promise and stay strong no matter what comes your way. You will experience God’s faithfulness. Don’t get discouraged. God is always good and always faithful. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!
