There is more to this life with God

When I first started experiencing the Lord, I was blown away by how amazing, loving and generous He was. I had been saved for many years but I knew nothing about experiencing God and living beyond the natural. I spent many years developing head knowledge about God but I had no heart knowledge. God was theory and ideas. The Bible was a manual and a book of principles. I stayed on the surface for a long time. I didn’t know any better. God was good and knowing Him on an intellectual level was fine. However, I know that my spirit wanted more and knew there was more. Reading about the Lord’s miracles seemed empty. It was great to learn about them but the hope to see them come to pass wasn’t there. God had been put on pause for most of my life up to that point.

My thinking and some of my upbringing had limited my interaction with God and my understanding of who He was all about. God is Spirit and He wants us to know Him in spirit and in truth. I found out that there was much more to this life with Christ. Much more than what you can understand with your mind. I found out that I had to let go of the logic that my brain loved to hang on to. Experiencing God was a step I wished to take but I was at a loss. What did that look like? Was it real? Was God interested in me enough to come down to my level and bring me up to His? Was all this wishful thinking or was there a higher dimension of God that we believers can experience on a daily basis.

I decided to pursue God and I embarked on a quest that led me to a new reality. A reality that clashed with what I had known. A reality that was out of this world. A reality that captured God and that set Him apart. A reality that was based on a strong foundation; the foundation of the Word of God. My reality was shaken by God’s reality. After years of speculation and hope, God turned out to be more real than I had imagined. I took steps to getting to know Him and he took strides to get closer to me. When we set our minds and our hearts on knowing God and we are open to who He is, He draws closer. He said “Knock and the door will be open.” My knocks were persistent and they were not only a cry for help but a need to know the truth and to live out this truth I had heard about. I was tired of hearing about God through other people. I wanted to hear from Him for myself and I wanted to see Him and enjoy His company like David and like Job. I loved reading about people with tenacious faith in the Word of God and I used them as models. Jesus was the most inspiring model and I stood outside His door and stayed there until He opened me to a new life, a life in Him and with Him.

Doing life with God was what appeared to be key for me. I understood that I had to acknowledge Him in all my ways. I put Jesus in everything I knew. How? I prayed for Him to bless every part of my life. I dedicated every part of my life that I was aware of to Him. My day started with Jesus and ended with Jesus. I became obsessed with worshipping Him and lifting Him up. Friend, it makes a huge difference when we praise the Lord with our lives and we do our best to impregnate our thoughts and our ideas with Him. Before long we see that there is much more to God than we imagine. The constant praise and worship through the way we live our lives and through singing and dancing lead to His presence being manifested more. God inhabits His praises and the more we praise Him the way I just described, the more of Him we see in our lives. We get to experience Him on a daily basis. I am talking about an outpouring of His glory. Blessings upon blessings. Fear dwindles. Boldness rises. Love dominates. Peace becomes a resident in our hearts. Joy flows at the least expected moment. Confidence and faith grow. It is a collision between Heaven and earth and an awareness of the Lord of the Bible. The Bible becomes alive and speaks to the depths of our souls. God tells us in His Word that there is more to this life. Jesus came to give us life in abundance and it is for here and now. Get closer to Him. Enjoy Him. Rejoice over Him. Celebrate Him. Make Him your priority. Dive into His love. Go there with your heart. Stay open to His Word. Know that He is faithful and that He adores you. Walk with Him. Stand with Him. Run with Him. Trust Him with your life. Depend on Him and He will show you that there is much more to this life. Jesus is King and He can rule your life and make it so much better than you can ever dream off. Seek His face and you will find a reality where anything is possible and love overcomes all!

God has never lost a battle

The other day the Lord reminded that He had never lost a battle. He reminded me that He was fighting my battles every time I was in sync with Him and trusting Him. I can fight my own battles but victory is not guaranteed or I can let Him do the fighting. He always wins. For a lot of people, every day is a battle. God has won those battles. He has won every day. He has created the days so we should rejoice and be glad in them. Nothing will ever be all perfect. There will always be some glitches and some hiccups but God has already seen them and He has a plan to fix all the mishaps and to make things right. I don’t know what battles you are facing today but I can say that you don’t have to face them alone. God has never lost a battle and we should invite Him into our battlefields. He has so much grace and mercy that sometimes He is there without our asking for His help. It is just amazing. He does want us to walk in faith and believe that when we entrust our battles to Him, He wins.

God is going to win every battle you give Him. The victory might look different from what you expect but He will win. He has already won. Expand the vision of what God can do for you. Expect a victory that is like no other. Picture what your mind can’t see. Use faith to depict that triumphant picture and stick with faith. Your darkest moments in your most violent battles don’t compare to the bright days of victory that are ahead of you. Jesus did it all and He is giving you the victory. Stay in peace and stay encouraged. Trust the process and thank Him that He has you in the palm of His hand. You are going to make it and you are going to be more than fine. The current battles are no match to your ever-present God. He hasn’t lost a single battle in the past and He is not going to start losing today.

The Lord said that in this world we would have tribulations but we should take courage because He has already conquered the world. Everything that will ever take place in this world was conquered by Jesus. Everything that happens in 2020 and that will happen in 2021 and in the years after that, was conquered by the Lord. Your deliverance might not be obvious today but it will come. The day of recognition is coming. The day of retribution is coming. The day of victory is coming. Knowing that and believing that, you can have a God celebration today. Don’t wait for the manifestation to have a celebration. Rejoice every day. Thank God that He never loses battles and He won’t lose yours. There is a shout of victory in Heaven. Adopt that shout and make it yours. Be in harmony with Heaven. Heaven sings of the victory of the Lord. Be of one accord and sing along. God has never lost a battle and He is preparing your victory as we speak. This week you might face some battles but remember that God has never lost a battle. Talk to Him about your struggles and listen to His comforting voice. He has won for you. Stay in faith!

Our God reigns

I have been listening to songs that talk about how our God reigns. I have been reading passages in the Bible that testify to God’s supremacy. God is supreme and He reigns. I used to forget that a lot. I would go on my day-to-day business and let other things in my life reign supreme. I lived a life where “My God reigns” wasn’t always a song on my lips. I would sing “My fear reigns” or “My problem reigns.” Then I found out that God should be on a pedestal and not the negativity that is in my life. I gave too much power to all the problems, the negative thoughts, the fear and the anxiety. I wasn’t doing a good job putting God first and even though I was saved, I acted like I was lost too often. I didn’t like my Christian life. My Jesus moments were way too sporadic and inconsistent. It was because my focus wasn’t on the right things. The Bible talks about renewing our minds and I miserably failed at that but it was mainly due to my lack of knowledge on that subject. I had heard of how my spirit was made new when I accepted the Lord as my Savior but I knew almost nothing about how important it was to line up my thinking with the Word of God. I needed to sweep away the old thinking and put down a fresh coat of God’s thinking. My mind was overloaded with insignificant ideas and with thoughts that did nothing to help me in my walk with God. My heart longed to know Jesus and my mind drove me away from Him. “My God reigns” is the refrain I needed to embrace and when I did, my life changed and my mind became transformed.

“Our God reigns” is a reality to anyone who believes it. It sounds simple but it makes a lot of sense and it is something to meditate on. It is when we spend time meditating on the Word of God that we receive some powerful revelation. The revelation here is that God is stronger than anything. He reigns and that means that He is King, He rules and He gets the final say in everything. You see, when I let life events dominate my thinking and rule over my life, I took away God’s supreme status. I put God in a category that is not His. I diminished His power and I minimized His majesty. I hurt my faith. I hurt it a lot with all the wrong thinking that circulated in my head all the time. My mind was a sieve that retained all negative thoughts and that let all the positive ones go through it. I had to give God His power back. He is always powerful but He will only be as powerful as we believe He is in our minds. If our faith in Him is not activated and not elevated to a high level, we will only have faith in small things. We are dealing with a mighty and huge God and we can’t limit Him to the small miracles of life. He doesn’t reign on the small villages of our lives so to speak. He reigns on our entire world and we need to get to that level of faith and declare Him victorious all the time.

“Our God reigns” is a declaration of triumph that makes the enemy mad and that silences him. I had to rebuke the voices that were exalting themselves above my God. The negative chatter had too much influence on me and I rejected that influence. The power of the mind is real and when we use that power to stay focused on the good things of the Lord and how amazing He is, our faith increases and our circumstances change. Our God reigns, friend. Your problems are not the winners. They should not win. God wins because He reigns. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords and that will never change. Today I am inviting you to declare that your God reigns. Shout it out. Declare it over and over again. Let your problems hear it loud and clear. Let your mind believe it and absorb it. Your God is more powerful than anything the enemy will ever throw at you. Stay strong. Nothing can dethrone your God. He is the ruler of your heart and the ruler of your life. Anything that tries to steal His seat on the throne is a lie. Today and tomorrow, our God reigns. Remember that!

Pushing away doubt, fear and worry

I often say how I believe God can do anything. For a while I was praying for a resurgence of the impossible in my life until the Lord stopped me and opened my eyes. He showed me that the impossible was still there. It’s around me. It’s happening. Every day the impossible points it head out the window of Heaven and I either invite it to come into my day or I look at it from a distance. It has to do with the measure of my faith in any given day. I was directed to pump up my faith and be sure it expands every day. Some life events tend to shrink our faith or better said we react to some life events with fear and doubt that gnaw at our faith. I was in prayer once and the Spirit of God told me to resist “dfw”. “DFW” stands for doubt, fear and worry. It’s a deadly combination that destroys our faith. The more passive we are when dealing with “dfw”, the less we will have access to the impossible made possible by the Lord. How much “dfw” are you dealing with every day? What do you do to defeat “dfw”? Those are two questions that we should answer. Recognizing that we have doubt, fear and worry is a great start. God is still the God of the impossible. We are the ones who need to work on deleting the “dfw” in our lives so we can move into a higher dimension of the impossible.

God is always with us. God is always near us. He is always around loving us, protecting us and blessing us. He can do anything and He can bless us with anything. The key is for us to trust and believe Him. Jesus couldn’t perform miracles in places where people didn’t believe in Him. The Son of God, the Almighty Lord couldn’t do the impossible where people thought it truly was impossible. They needed faith to have their eyes opened to the miracle working power of the Lord. Now, the Lord cannot perform miracles in our lives when we don’t have that faith activated. Grace and mercy come into play at times and we see the impossible unfold before our very eyes but faith is what should get us there. Without faith we can’t please God. Doubt, fear and worry are the main three agents whose mission is to keep us from living in faith. I recommend finding out the areas where these three negative agents are the most operational in your life. What do they look like when they manifest? How easy do they get in? What doors are allowing them to come in? Sometimes it’s the door of past negative experiences. Sometimes it’s what we hear every day that serves as a negative entryway. Sometimes it’s the lack of the Word of God in our lives that is a door of obstruction. Sometimes overthinking is the main door. Whatever door is giving the negative agents a way in should be dealt with. Name those doors and face them. You are not alone. God is with you. Include Him in the process of facing “dfw.” Great results will ensue.

The goal is to fill your spiritual sphere with lots of faith builders and positivity. Faith builders are all the elements you need to keep your faith strong. A faith builder can be a person, a message, a song, a prayer, a period of time, an action, a thought. Anything and anyone that builds up your faith is a faith builder or helper. It’s strongly recommended that we frequent faith helpers as much as possible. The enemy will always vouch to occupy your spiritual sphere and poison it with negativity such as “dfw.” The more your sphere is filled with faith builders, the stronger you will be when you get assaulted by “dfw.” Address every injection of poison from the enemy. If you doubt that God can help you, deal with the doubt and proclaim that God is on your side. If you fear that something bad is going to happen to you, deal with the fear and declare that God is your refuge. If you worry that you won’t have enough money, deal with the worry and say that God is your provider. Don’t let the “dfw” grow in you. Put it down every time it rises up. You might have to do it a hundred times but it will become easier. The more you do it, the more faith you will have. Before you know it you will be trusting the God of the impossible. He can do all things. No “dfw” is bigger than He is. Push away doubt, fear and worry. Put some distance between you and the terrible trio. Keep your hopes up. Stay positive in the Lord. Let that positivity dominate your thoughts and it will keep your emotions in check. With the Lord you can push away the “dfw” even if it comes back a hundred times a day. God is on your side. He can make the impossible possible. Stay encouraged!
