How to get a strong spirit

How do you get a strong spirit? Feed your spirit. Feed your spirit first thing in the morning. Feed your spirit throughout the day. Your spirit needs as much nourishment as your body does if nothing more. Why more? Because you ought to let your spirit dominate your body. Your spirit, the new creation in Christ should prevail over your flesh. You have the potential to be a firecracker for God and that potential is found in how much you feed your spirit. The Lord has given us tools, feeding tools we should be using all day. Some of those major tools are the Word of God, prayer, praise and worship, gratitude, love, acts of service and joy. You might have a customized set of tools but the ones I mentioned will all do the job and they are very powerful.

Every day you should check and see how many feedings you give your spirit. Check and see if you are using some tools more than others. Learn how you interact with them and be sure to indulge in them. First thing first. Morning feeding is crucial. What do you give your spirit when you first wake up? Do you feed it social media? Do you give it a portion of overthinking? Do you let negative thoughts drop down into your spirit? Your first feeding should be aggressive. It should be solid food. Solid food that is going to sustain you for a while. Hit your spirit with power first thing in the morning. Fill up with the good stuff. Fill up with power. I suggest entering the day with praise. Start the day praising and worshiping the Lord. Start the day on a very positive note. Start the day with Jesus. Make Him your focus.

Jesus should always come first and when you make Him your meditation first thing in the morning, you are giving your spirit what it truly needs. Your spirit needs Jesus all the time. Your spirit needs to maintain its relationship with the Holy Spirit and when you adore and worship, you are tapping into the power of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God will also point at Jesus. The Spirit of God will always give you solid food from Heaven when you praise the Lord. Let the praises take you into prayer mode. Prayer is a great way to feed your spirit. During prayer, you can hear the Lord and you can talk to the Lord. Jesus prayed to the Father all the time so we should pray to God all the time. Prayer builds up your spiritual muscles and it helps your spirit grow. Your spirit can learn so much during prayer time.

Feed your spirit words. Speak up. Say what the Lord says about you and about your life. Let your spirit hear words of encouragement and words of faith. It is very important that you feed your spirit positivity. You need a big helping of positivity for the day. Stay positivity throughout the day. You can accomplish that by speaking. Don’t let negative thoughts control your actions. Control your actions by speaking words of peace, love, faith, victory in Jesus and joy. The Lord says that His joy is your strength. Get the joy of the Lord activated in your life. It can come from praise, from fellowship with the Holy Spirit and from the Word of God.

Feed the Word of God to your spirit. This feeding process will help you grow and get stronger in the Lord. The Word is the manna from Heaven that will allow you to have a strong foundation for your faith. The Word will enlighten your spirit and give you the chance to walk in the truth. The Word will fill you up with all the goodness from Heaven. It will bless you over and over again. A good session in the Word will make you full. Get full! Enjoy the Word every day. Enjoy the feeding tools every day. Start your day with them and give your spirit spiritual meals all day long. Stay full. Feed your spirit power! May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

10 nuggets of wisdom for your Saturday (Part 173)

The mind gets full. The heart gets heavy and the spirit suffers. Jesus can make us light again. Let’s cast our cares upon Him and we will be free from life’s heaviness!

Before Christ you had no life. After Christ you became a new person. Before Christ you were dead inside. The Lord’s resurrection is now your success story. You live through Christ and in Christ. Celebrate Jesus, the life of the party.

When you keep walking in faith despite your circumstances, the enemy will attack your thoughts and try to build negative strongholds in your head. Turn your thoughts over to the Lord. Find refuge in Him and let Him be your fortress of positivity.

Whatever tries to be bigger than you is never bigger than God. God can destroy what is trying to destroy you. Trust Him in all circumstances!

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. His ability to heal you and to bless you hasn’t changed. Keep hoping for a breakthrough in His name!

Where you came from is not necessarily where you are now. You are not in the past anymore. With God all things are new. You are a new creature in Christ. You are not your “old you” anymore. Remember that!

There is a change of plans happening in your life today. What the enemy had meant for evil, Jesus is changing for good. Hold on to God’s plans for your life. They are amazing and they are true blessings. Stay encouraged!

Your hotline to Heaven is found in your prayer life. Make sure you stay in touch with God every day. He will always pick up when you call. He will always listen when you are on the line. He is never too busy to answer your call and He will never hang up on you!

Focus on what you know you see in Jesus’ name. Focus on what faith is showing you and not on what doubt is flashing in your face. Don’t worry about the blind spots and keep driving in faith. Believe that God will show you what the human eye can’t see through the power of faith.

God is always faithful and He will show you that despite the adversity He is standing by you. Trust Him and rely on Him even when the world is falling apart around you. God will restore everything and give you more than before!

Great is His faithfulness

Another week and another chance to see how faithful our Lord is. I love that God is always faithful. It is something that I celebrate every day but at times there is some resistance in my head. Sometimes I go down the wrong path of thinking and my mind tries to tell me that God is going to fail me and He won’t be faithful. I have been in situations where I couldn’t see God’s faithfulness. The problem was that I was trying to see it with my eyes and I was looking for it around me. God is faithful no matter what. He stands on His throne in His glory and nothing can change that His faithfulness sits on His throne with Him. He promised to bless us and to never leave us. His love is faithful and it stays with us. If Jesus is your Savior, His faithfulness will accompany you all the days of your life. Because it is such a powerful truth, you can expect the enemy to do his best to demonstrate that God’s faithfulness is overrated. The devil is the king of lies and deceit. He will never hold the truth. Remember that. Even when things look bad and hopeless, God’s faithfulness is intact. The enemy will play up the bad things that are happening to you so you can believe that God can’t get you out of your problems.

God’s faithfulness is a guarantee and when we stay in faith and we keep standing despite the adversity, we will see the glory of God shine and His faithfulness will be evident. God said that He will protect us and that is always true. His protection is all around you, friend. Keep that in mind and keep saying that to yourself. You might be in some type of danger now but God’s protection is greater and stronger than anything you are facing. His protection will get you through anything. Not just a few circumstances but all of them. Praise Him for His faithful protection. Declare His protection over your life. Declare that God cares and that He watches over you faithfully. God promised He would send a Savior. He said He would send Someone who would cover all our sins and save us from eternal death. He kept His promise. He sent His Son. His Son came to earth and fulfilled the promise even though there were many attempts to end His life prematurely. When He was on the cross, it looked like death had won but God had not changed His promise. He had not altered what He was going to accomplish and Jesus conquered death. The promise stood strong and it is still alive today. God’s promises are all still alive and your trials and tribulations can’t control them. Tell the Lord you are ready to see His promises fulfilled in your life today.

One of God’s biggest promises is that He loves us. He is faithful with that promise and He keeps on loving us even when we keep on messing up. His faithful love is packaged in His mercy and grace. Think about how merciful the Lord has been and how His grace has carried you. I can quote many instances when God’s grace has saved my life. My whole life is a testimony to God’s grace and faithfulness. I am thankful for His faithfulness. I am inviting you today to expect God to be faithful and to add that truth to your daily declarations of faith. Remind yourself and your circumstances that God is always faithful. Start the week with that promise on your lips and in your mind. Let your heart be filled with the promise and stay strong no matter what comes your way. You will experience God’s faithfulness. Don’t get discouraged. God is always good and always faithful. May God bless you and protect you and remember that He will always love you!

The God of miracles

What do you need now? What do you need for your situation to get better? You might need a miracle or at least it might feel like a miracle is what it would take for your circumstances to improve. The good news is that God is in the business of miracles. He is the inventor of miracles and He has a lot of experience with miracles. As a matter of fact, miracles are in His veins. God is a miracle. That is how I see Him. He came into my life and saved me. He is the miracle I had been waiting for so long. I am getting to know Him and I am learning about His miracle-working power. He is more proficient in miracles than anyone you will ever meet. Therefore, you should go to Him. Turn to Him today. Ask for your miracle. Pray to Him. Be a relentless prayer warrior and show Him that you know He is the miracle maker. God is a miracle maker. What seems like a miracle to us is just another normal act to Him. Parting the seas, turning water into wine are just everyday occurrences for Him. We don’t see them happen because we don’t have the faith for it. It sometimes takes corporate faith for major things like that to take place. Get to know the God of miracles. In the Bible you will find many accounts of His miracles and you will be amazed by His power and by what He can do. He can do the impossible. If there is one thing you should retain from this message is that God can do the impossible. Your miracle is not that far away and it is not something God has to come up with after a long period of reflection and planning. God can reverse any situation, restore anything that needs to be fixed and improve any circumstances. There is something great that will happen to you when you rely on God. You don’t have to bring a huge amount of faith to Him. All He needs is your mustard seed of faith and a heart that is open and willing to receive from Him. The God of miracles can take your situation and make it so much better that you will completely forget that you were in distress at one point.

The parting of the Red Sea is one of the miracles in the Bible that has had the most impact on me. It is an act of God that represents what God can do very well. Who could part the seas and make a path for people to walk on if not God? I am sure that with today’s technology men could do something similar but we are talking about an event that took place centuries ago when such a thing was inconceivable. I have been faced with a Red Sea of my own before. A barrier, a huge hurdle, an impossible situation that kept me from reaching a place of peace. I have contemplated that sea and thought many times that there was no way I would be able to go through it or to come out of it in one piece. My heart used to get broken a lot and I would find its many pieces on the threshold of hope with too much discouragement to even think of repair and restoration. However, God has come through for me all the time. He has picked up the pieces and put my heart back together better than it had been before. God is not intimidated by the seas. It doesn’t matter how big and rocky the oceans of your life are. God can part them and neutralize them. With one word He can make them move away from your path and He can make you walk on dry land. Think of the dry land as the path to your miracles. Many are the paths of the Lord so be assured that no sea can stop Him and He will not only make your path clear but He will make sure that it leads to a great miracle.

When I started thinking about how miracles are nothing extraordinary for God, it helped my thinking align with God’s. Miracles are amazing events that defy logic and nature. God is an amazing God who defies logic and nature and it is in His nature to create miracles. Trust and believe that the miracle you need today is something that God will do for you very easily. Trust and believe that God loves you very much and He is more than willing to shower you with miracles. Trust and believe that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever and He has never stopped performing miracles. Join the group of believers that know without a doubt that miracles are for us today. Join the group of believers that understand that God is the miracle-worker that the world needs today. The outcome of your current situation doesn’t hinge upon your abilities, your money, your intellect and your luck. It all depends on your Savior and He is the God of miracles. He is the One who is going to solve your problem. He is the One you should put in charge of your situation by faith. It is not over yet. Your miracle can still take place. God is not too late and He is not limited by time and space. He has enough room to create something miraculous in your life and He always has the perfect timing. You are so blessed! You are a child of the God of miracles! Stretch out your hand over your sea of problems and the Lord will drive it away from you and make a way for dry land and there will be a path to your miracle!

Focusing on the fruit of the Spirit

The first thing I heard when I woke up yesterday and I got  into prayer was, “Focus on the fruit of the Spirit.” I loved that message because I love learning about the fruit of the Spirit. The message stayed with me for a few hours while the Lord was teaching me about His fruit and encouraging me to grow it, preserve it and give it away. These are three vitals steps. We need to grow the fruit, then we need to maintain the fruit and finally we need to share the fruit. The fruit of the Spirit is a great gift from God and every gift He gives us is meant to be shared with others at some point. That is why it is important to develop the fruit so that what we give to others is sustainable and lasting. Love is the head of the fruit of the Spirit. I call the fruit of the Spirit “the traits of the Spirit” and love is the most important trait.

Without love, the fruit of the Spirit can go bad. Without love, the fruit of the Spirit can lose its taste. Without love, the fruit of the Spirit can’t multiply. Without love, the fruit of the Spirit is a counterfeit. It then makes sense that love is what we ought to grow in our lives and what we should concentrate on the most. We want faith without going through the love phase. We want peace without taking love into consideration. We want joy thinking that it is crucial to be happy and joyful and love will be added to the list once we have reached a level of happiness. Love should always come first. Love makes everything work. Love is the fuel and the power behind the whole fruit of the Spirit. Remember that the fruit of the Spirit is intended to be shared and love rejoices when it gives and when it shares.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness and self-control.* All the components of the fruit of the Spirit are characteristics of the Holy Spirit. We have the Spirit in us and it is up to us to let Him guide us and to give Him room to do what He wants in our lives. We have to put time and effort into it. The fruit is in us and with a willing heart we can see it grow and flourish. When I heard that I should focus on the fruit of the Spirit yesterday, I was reminded that the fruit was there and it is easy for us to ignore it or to put it in a basket and keep it in the fridge where it becomes cold. Fruit baskets are not supposed to be put away. They should be displayed and there should be in the open.

Put oranges and bananas in the fridge and you will have a cold experience that could rob those fruits of the delicious potential that they have. Sometimes we put the fruit of the Spirit so far deep down inside that it sits in the freezer of our thoughts and it is just a distant memory that we don’t think of often. I am not saying that we become monsters but we don’t give the fruit the chance to manifest God’s traits. Love should always be out in the open, ready to be spread and ready to touch people’s lives. Ask God to help you ripen His fruit. His Spirit will take you through the steps of fruit maturation and you will be a basket of peace, joy, gentleness and love above all.

It is crucial to keep love at the center of our fruit basket and to operate through love. We develop love by practicing it and by spending time with the Father. Praise, prayer and worship are amazing times of impartation when the Lord fills us up with His love. When we yield and we surrender, we can be strong vessels of love that are positioned to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Love will always lead us to share Jesus and to give hope to people. During the times spent with God, we also receive peace and joy. If we keep up with those practices and they become a habit, the fruit will be maintained in our lives. We will have it and we will preserve it. We will then have no choice but to share it. We will be patient with people, caring and good.

If we maintain the fruit, God’s traits will be part of our spiritual DNA and our thoughts, our words and our actions will be impregnated with the fruit. We will move around with gentleness and self-control. Self-control is a much needed fruit. It allows us to stay calm when things go wrong and to bless those that wrong us. Today I want to reiterate the message from yesterday morning and encourage you to grow the fruit of the Spirit, to preserve it and to share it with everyone around you. The kindness and the goodness of God in you will leave indelible footprints on the hearts of those you interact with. Do it all for God’s glory. Focus on the fruit of the Spirit every day!
